10 of the Coolest Items at the Museum of Horrors Stoke

Museum Reception Stoke Horrors

Step inside as we bring you 10 of the coolest items at the Museum of Horrors Stoke.

Museum of Horrors Fenton

The Museum of Horrors in Stoke is a project close to my heart because we’re involved and have been from day one. An attraction that houses movie props, costumes and true crime artefacts with many more horror-related items on display.

Once a month actors take over the museum for an immersive hands-on event where guests have the option to have the normal experience or to upgrade to a more intense ‘not for the faint-hearted’ extreme experience that will test even the most diehard of horror enthusiasts.

Consisting of many items from our own collection in addition to items that belong to Craig and Gemma (who own the museum) there’s something for everyone in this unique UK attraction, so unique that it is the UK’s first Museum of Horrors and there isn’t anything else like it in the country.

Museum of Horrors Stoke on Trent

But I would say that wouldn’t I?

So instead of self-promoting for an entire article, I’ll dive right into just a handful of the coolest items we have under our roof here in Stoke on Trent.

We won’t be sharing photos of the items so it’ll give you even more of a reason to get yourselves down to the museum and check these items out for yourselves.

Right, let’s dive in shall we?

Lady Gaga’s Production Dress – American Horror Story Hotel

AHS Hotel Dress

One of Lady Gaga’s production dresses from American Horror Story Hotel is proudly displayed in the museum.

American Horror Story Hotel was a captivating series and with a whole room in the museum dedicated to hotel horrors, it’s only fitting that we have the Countess on full display to celebrate in our macabre attraction.

If you haven’t seen American Horror Story Hotel already you don’t know what you’re missing, it’s engrossing and so easy to sink your teeth into.

Devil’s Night has to be one of my favourite episodes as a whole host of deceased serial killers gather in this hotel where the dead reside forever.

A Serial Killer’s Blood-Soaked Ouija Board

Nico Claux

Serial Killer Nico Claux spent 12 years in prison and was released in 2002 and dedicated his life to true crime artwork and exhibitions.

Nico painted us an Ouija board splattered in his blood depicting various serial killers (including himself) and signed the back for us.

This very macabre and unique item resides in our true crime room and is quite the talking piece for those who enter.

The true crime room at the Museum of Horrors Stoke allows guests to become investigators and handle real true crime evidence from some of the world’s most notorious cases. It’s a very hands-on room with very few items hidden behind frames or glass cabinets.

Unseen Jeffrey Dahmer Apartment Crime Scene Photos

dahmer

The Millwakee cannibal infamous in true crime history but this one item just had to be added for exclusivity alone.

These are real photos taken by the police department of Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment in the aftermath of the discovery of human remains in his home where he was arrested in 1991.

These photos have only been seen by a handful of people in history until now when they go on public display within our museum.

More photos out there exist but will never be posted digitally online so the only place you can see them is if you purchase them (there are some still out there) or if you come on down to the museum and check them out!

The photos aren’t grizzly in nature but do show Jeffrey’s apartment and blood traces.

A Piece of Charles Manson

Charles Manson image

Yes, you read that correctly.

There is a piece of cult leader Charles Manson inside the Museum of Horrors Stoke on Trent.

We’d love a blood painting with cremains just like the one on display at the Haunted Museum in Vegas but we’ll settle for a small piece of Charles in our museum that now resides within our true crime room.

To have anything like this in our little attraction in Stoke on Trent blows my mind!

Castle Miniature Piece from Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Dracula's Castle

When filming the 1992 Bram Stoker’s Dracula movie miniatures were created for various shots.

A minute of the castle was constructed and you can see a very small piece of it on display in the museum.

What’s left of the castle miniature in its fullest form resides at the Haunted Museum in Vegas and belongs to Ghost Adventures host Zak Bagans.

It’s nice to have a very small piece of it residing in our little horror hub in Stoke on Trent.

Robert Englund Promotional Freddy Krueger Glove

Robert Englund

After working with Robert Englund on the movie Fear Clinic I went to meet him one day and handed him a Freddy glove.

He loved how well made it was and then went into using it for numerous promotions of the Fear Clinic movie and various video clips for numerous press outlets and channels across the web.

Whilst the glove is sadly not one used in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise (usually fetching upwards of £50,000 a glove) this promotional glove is a great addition to the museum collection worn by the man himself and used to promote a film that I worked on personally.

Not the best film in the world but a great opportunity with many memories made!

Liv’s Lab Coat from iZombie

One of many lab coats used in the horror-comedy series iZombie worn by Rose Mciver with traces of production blood on there for added effect.

Unfortunately with iZombie being 5 seasons of the show, we haven’t been able to sit through every episode to pinpoint where the coat shows up.

In quite a lot of episodes, Liv wears a hoodie under her lab coat and the hood would have covered up the blood splatter that we have on the shoulder of ours meaning it’s ten times as difficult to pinpoint which episode this was from despite full certification from the studio/prop house.

Mike Enslin’s Daughter’s Body from 1408

1408 movie

1408 is an outstanding hotel horror movie about Mike Enslin, a paranormal author who investigates the haunted hotel room 1408.

Spending his life as a sceptic the room opens up his eyes to true evil.

John’s character in the movie had a daughter who passed away and in a gut-wrenching scene, the hotel plays tricks on him as he sees his daughter alive once again before cruelly taking her away for the second time right in front of his very eyes.

The body used on set and on display at the museum was used for a few seconds in the movie but provides one of the most intense scenes of the entire film.

Doghouse ‘Hero’ Weapons

Doghouse

Doghouse is a British independent horror movie starring Noel Clarke and Danny Dyer about a group of lads who go to a village known for its large population of women only to find they’ve all been turned into men-hating creatures.

A variety of weapons were used in Doghouse and on display in the museum are the hero ones used on screen.

Hero props refer to metal or original material props used in close-ups on screen to show they’re real. For example a metal knife, but if a knife was used in a combat scene the metal knife would be replaced with a ‘Stunt’ knife which would have a rubber or tractable blade to prevent home to actors on set.

There are a variety of hero weapons on display from Doghouse that are well worth checking out from this independent horror gem.

Resident Evil Zombie Mask

Resident Evil Poster

We have a whole host of zombie props on display including a variety of costumes from many different productions but one piece in particular is a prosthetic background facial appliance that was used in Resident Evil Retribution.

This detailed mask was worn in the background on screen and showcases the level of intricate detail and craftsmanship that goes into creating various props, prosthetics and costumes on set.

Blade Original Shooting Script

blade movie

Before Blade even went into production many names for the film were in the works and an original production script is certainly hard to come by but we have one!

Come and check it out in the museum alongside another rather cool Blade item used by Wesley Snipes himself!
