Bradley and Barney Walsh Breaking Dad Episode 3 Review

Already halfway through this 6-part series we bring you our Breaking Dad episode 3 review.

Bradley and Barney Episode 3

The next stop on Bradley and Barney Walsh’s European road trip is Switzerland.

I love how each episode has two rather mundane tasks for the pair to do followed by two absolutely breathtaking tasks.

The tallest outdoor elevator in the world takes the pair to the top of a Swiss mountain before they begin the mountain coaster.

Mountain Coaster

If you’re feeling a little left out you can visit one very similar at Zipworld in Wales.

Check out my video on the Wales forest coaster here.

Manufactured by Wiegand the mountain coasters come with your own seatbelt and brake to control your speed.

Along the track there are automatic brakes along the way so you’re always safe from start to finish but you can pick up some serious speed on the way down.

The Swiss coaster definitely looks longer on the way down but the ascension on the way up through the forest takes absolutely ages and I imagine it’s even longer on the swiss coaster hence why the editors cut straight to the top as Bradley and Barney fly down.

Not quite the exhilarating introduction to the episode as the previous two but this episode certainly has something special in store and they saved the best for last.

Yodelling

Whilst the mountain coaster segment felt like the filler it’s safe to say with the finale of this episode that every part of this third episode is filler.

Certainly a funny segment but absolutely filler just passing the time.

This is where for me the format of Gordon, Gino and Fred is more fluid between segments not allowing the episode to drop in tone at any given moment.

After a quick yodel we take our scheduled break as we are eased into the second half.

This feels very much like the Top Gear episode where Freddie Flintoff bungeed off a dam in a car.

The whole episode was lethargic until it was suddenly hit with a jab of adrenaline and went into overdrive.

Cheese Bath

Out of every death-defying stunt and task done so far it’s been an easy ride for Barney Walsh who doesn’t fear a damn thing.

Except cheese baths.

He really looked uncomfortable in that bath and that’s the first time i’ve seen him squirm since they started the show.

But once the hardest task (for Barney) was out the way it was time for the shows finale.

Bungee Jump

Voted one of the best movie stunts of all time the bungee jump in Goldeneye stands out as a cinematic classic.

I saw the 220 metre drop and I instantly looked away from the screen.

One of the highest bungee jumps in the world dressed as James Bond I do think a lot of editing was done with this one.

One minute Bradley is like nope, next minute he’s on the platform and even Barney is nervous.

FINALLY it was amazing to see something shake the brave lad.

What an incredible achievement to even stand on the platform and the heart of a nation is now with Bradley Walsh.

This is absolutely petrifying for me to watch and as Barney is pulled back up to the top he tells his dear old dad it’s the scariest thing he’s ever done.

The suspense builds and builds and it becomes emotional.

The whole episode has been building up to this. But he stands down.

I’m absolutely in Bradley’s shoes with this one, a bungee is the one thing I refuse to do over anything else.

There’s nothing like a Toblerone to end the episode and to ease the nail biting suspense that the last segment presented.
