On episode two of series 30, the trio take a look at Bond’s best ever cars, Freddie takes on an Extreme E car (and a man in a jetpack), while Paddy and Chris decide which is the best way to spend £200k: Ferrari Roma or Alfaholics GTA-R.

It’s been a tough week for Top Gear fans as the beloved Sabine Schmitz sadly passed away from cancer.

My thoughts are with her family and friends at this distressing time.

In this weeks episode the lads celebrate the upcoming release of No Time to Die by theming this episode after some of the most infamous Bond cars.

Certainly a step up in pace from the first episode that provided a nice relaxing and throughly enjoyable set-up that just worked.

The lads enter a warehouse that looks as though someone has just stolen every exhibit currently at the London Film Museum Bond in Motion Exhibition (highly recommend by the way) as the gang check out the vintage Aston Martin DB5 and more.

What an opportunity to be given a chance to sit in them, enjoy them and soak up the rich cinematic film history with every vehicle linked to a famous Bond actor al many a famous scene that has defined the history of British cinema.

It was all going so well until Freddie admits he just ‘doesn’t get’ James Bond.

You could collectively hear the gasps of the British public the second he opened his mouth.

Whilst the exhibition pieces stayed in place the guys took replicas on the road with a range of more affordable James Bond cars that we can all experience.

Racing the half Renault 11’s around the track was absolutely superb, what a laugh that looked. They should make that a track day event for all bond fans!

Once the bargain cars are out the way the more expensive choices came along as Freddie chose the Lotus Esprit.

Seeing Freddie talk about the Lotus Esprit used in Bond’s after previously mentioning he doesn’t ‘get Bond’ seems a bit strange as he most likely never even saw the film and was just reading a script.

Not the best person to choose for that segment knowledge wise but he more than makes up for it with confidence, comedy and northern charm.

The Toyota 2000GT from You Only Live Twice was Chris’ choice of car and last but certainly not least the Aston Martin DB5 was Paddy’s car of choice.

What followed was an absolutely hilarious car chase scene of Harris in a Nick Nack costume and Freddie Flintoff who looked like he’d just had an awful dentist experience with his makeshift Jaws costume.

Paddy’s DB5 was fully equipped with all of Q’s gadgets and it was absolutely brilliant to witness.

I’m pretty sure Joanna Lumley was driving this exact car over on ITV a few weeks back!

Much like a James Bond movie the action just doesn’t stop as Freddie gets to grip with the absolutely insane Extreme E Car racing against a man on a jetpack!

From start to finish this high-octane episode is a complete contrast from the first episode.

Engaging, exciting and outstanding.

Well done lads.
