Exclusive to the Disney Magic and a show like no other, blending enchanting music, superb set design and lavish production we bring you our Tangled: The Musical review.

Honoured to be onboard the Disney Magic as part of a sponsored trip I just had to check out the theatrical productions on board.
Nowhere else in the world can you witness Tangled: The Musical and this exclusivity also brought along the mystique that piqued my curiosity.
The new musical showcases the thrilling adventure of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider as they face ruffians, thugs and a budding romance on an exhilarating journey of self-discovery.
Located in the Walt Disney Theatre on the cruise ship this 977 seat theatre is layered with Art Deco stylings and state of the art theatrical technology that was used to its utmost best during this spellbinding production.
This 60-minute show was constructed by some of the best in the business as Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken (“Tangled,” “The Little Mermaid”) and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Glenn Slater (“Tangled”) created three new songs exclusively for this show.
Other top-notch theatrical talent included Tony Award-winning costume designer Paloma Young (“Peter and the Starcatcher”), master puppet designer Michael Curry (Disney’s “The Lion King” on Broadway), set designer Bradley Kaye (Disney’s “Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular”), director Gordon Greenberg and choreographer Connor Gallagher.
“Tangled: The Musical” was produced by Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, which has received acclaim for its productions around the world, including “Finding Nemo – The Musical” (Walt Disney World Resort in Florida), “Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story” (Disney Cruise Line) and “The Golden Mickeys” (Hong Kong Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line).
I was amazed by just how many sets were included in the show as a total of 15 scenes and seven locations were chopped and changed around in moments.
Each set is as beautifully constructed as the next, all of these sets sculpted and painted by hand which showcases the high level of detail and dedication that Disney has put into this exclusive production.
The catchy numbers and the beautiful was the effects create an atmosphere that had me fully immersed in the story. Fog filled the stage as a beautifully crafted boat takes Flynn and Rapunzel down the river and other effects include harnesses, a wonderfully created Maximus horse and costumes to absolutely die for.
I’m not a huge Disney fan but this trip was an eye-opening experience for me in more ways than one.
I haven’t seen anything on the level of quality and detail that Tangled the Musical brought to the table and I absolutely loved every second.
It was certainly a production that brought the magic to the Disney Magic ship and a show that I could watch many more times and never be bored.
There just aren’t enough stars in the world to give to this absolutely breathtaking show!
Disney Magic certainly put on a show as this Broadway-style production took my theatrical experiences to a whole new level.
