The sleep experts at Beds Divans have analysed search trends and IMDb review data to find out which top-grossing horror film keeps the most people up at night.
After analysing over IMDB ratings and 50,000 critic and public reviews one film in particular ranked head and shoulders above the rest when it came to scare factor.
The findings showed that Supernatural is the scariest horror genre and is the most likely to keep people up at night with 52% of the scariest movies falling under this category.
With 3.8 million global searches online per month, IT is the most in-demand and searched for horror movie with 243,000 UK monthly searches alone!
IT isn’t only the most in-demand horror movie but its the top-grossing horror film raking in $700,381,749 at the box office.
Once the research had been finalised a winner was revealed and that winner was The Blair Witch Project.
The movie is the horror film that people lose sleep over the most and one of the scariest films as shown through an IMDB search.

Personally, for me, there are some questionable films in the Top 25 scariest films of all-time list.
I thought The Meg was a comedy!
The fact that anything by Jordan Peele is in this particular list is also quite amusing to me as his films never really hit that scare factor note with me in any way shape or form.
His movies always seem to dive too much into political tones that it overshadows the genuine ‘scare factor’ that his work could deliver.
