After the last episode was somewhat of a disappointment I was more confident about this particular episode due to its location, here’s my One Night in London Zoo review.

Comedians Alex Brooker, Josh Widdicombe, Desiree Burch and Guz Khan run wild in London Zoo and witness what the animals get up to after dark. But who’ll help to muck out the camel enclosure?
So far during this One Night In series on Channel 4 Alex and Josh have been to Alton Towers and The Natural History Museum.
Two completely contrasting attractions with one being very active and entertaining and the other being more relaxed and to some, well, quite boring.
This perfectly summed up the two opening episodes and whilst I felt the Alton Towers episode was a severely wasted opportunity in terms of what they did (they spent most of their time driving around / in the arcades) it was entertaining due to the location it was set in.
Five minutes into the museum episode and I was genuinely nodding off.
Episode 3 takes the pair to London Zoo where they’re joined by Desiree Burch and Gus Khan and thanks to both Desiree and Gus not to mention an interactive attraction such as the zoo this episode nailed it out of the park.
I still feel that the series lacks from serious challenges to give the comedians and certainly focuses on the more promotional aspect of things.
Episode 3 made quick light on the on-site accommodation the zoo has where you can actually sleep in the zoo for the night.
They also hinted at their monkey experience package (another upcharge) at the zoo where you can interact with the monkeys for 20 minutes… yup… that’s it, for £54.
The prices for the lodges range between £300 and £400+ depending on what time of year you want to stay but I didn’t think that was TOO bad considering the VIP experiences you receive on top of your accommodation but all the same this episode felt a little more promotion than anything else.
The best group by far made this the funniest episode of the bunch as feeding monkeys, taking selfies with giraffes and Josh Widdicombe jumping at just about everything in sight was great to see.
Even funnier knowing that Josh has a season pass to the zoo so this new scare factor and exclusivity of exploring the zoo at night certainly kept someone who visits regularly entertained in familiar surroundings.
With the LEGOLAND episode not too far away now I certainly feel the museum episode was a wasted feature in the series. It just seems pointless to have included such a dull location in what is otherwise a solid line-up of UK attractions.

I absolutely recommend this episode, from herding Pigmy Goats to Josh freaking out in a room of spiders and the whole gang wearing night vision goggles waiting for lions to mate, it’s comedy gold. I loved it!
