The John Wick Car Garage Is An American Dream

John Wick Car

One John Wick car is enough to make a grown man drool but throughout the films there have been a plethora of incredible muscle cars. Let’s take a look at some highlights!

A global phenomenon that has amassed $587 million worldwide at the box office with another movie in the way (at some point) despite being delayed numerous times.

A simple tale about a retired assassin out to avenge the death of his dog has been drawn out over three (soon to be four) movies.

But every action hero has to have his own statement car to drive.

Thankfully for us John Wick has driven multiple vehicles over the films and even a horse!

Let’s take a look at some of the most iconic ones.

Ford Mustang 1969

Mustang Boss 429

This iconic American muscle car produce by Ford is the iconic John Wick car we instantly recognise from the first movie.

The car was initially stolen in the first movie by Iosef Tarasov and the mafia to be sold off. This plan failed and John Wick was able to get it back in time for the second movie despite being beaten up.

It’s first introduced during a gas station scene before its enviably stolen by the mafia. John’s dog is killed and the franchise has been going forward off that simple premise ever since with a body count hitting staggering numbers.

The Boss 429 is a rare car indeed with only 1359 models made before its discontinuation in 1970 thus becoming one of the rarest muscle cars to date.

But wait. The cars used in the movie weren’t Boss 429’s.

No they were not.

Despite being called a Boss 429 in the movie, the five Mustangs used in the film are actually 1969 Mach 1 Ford Mustangs!

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396

Chevelle

Once the Mustang disappears off screen (after being lost) John must resort to a loaner.

As far as loaners go this one is pretty special too as the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 packs 375 horsepower and certainly fits his badass persona down to a tee.

The Chevelle makes a nice appearance in the John Wick 2 but doesn’t get as much screen time as I’d have personally liked.

2011 Dodge Charger

2011 Dodge Charger

The menacing 2011 Dodge Charger features in all guns blaring car chase despite meeting a sticky end.

Certainly a spotlight car in the franchise as this particular car is a de-badged SXT model.

John was given a brand new Dodge Charger at the very end of the film.

If there was one John Wick car to choose out of the above I just can’t sway away from the Mustang.

Gone in Sixty Seconds will always hold a special place in my heart for my favourite onscreen movie car but this one is a very close contender.

It just has a regal class that the others just don’t have (for me) and that would be my personal favourite.

Which one would be yours?
