A second Minecraft movie trailer has been released by Warner Bros as we get a glimpse of this real-life Minecraft movie coming to cinemas in 2025.

Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival! Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.
To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

The film also stars Emma Myers (“Wednesday”), Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks (“The Color Purple”), Sebastian Eugene Hansen (“Just Mercy, “Lisey’s Story”), with Jennifer Coolidge.
The news comes as perfect timing because it was only recently announced yesterday that Merlin Entertainments is set to bring a Minecraft theme park to the UK in 2026 with Chessington World of Adventures tipped to be the new UK home of Minecraft Land whilst the US will also see a similar Minecraft IP installed.
Merlin will be investing more than £85 million in the first two attractions which will include guest accommodation, retail, and food & beverage, alongside exciting experiences – including a Minecraft-themed ride which is rumoured to be themed around the nether.
The nether in Minecraft world is a dangerous hell-fire world full of lava and hostile mobs. The perfect area to theme a family theme park ride after as Merlin doesn’t half love theming their rides after sinister things.

We have Nemesis Reborn at Alton Towers which is about an alien that breaks free and kills members of an experimental group who performed experiments on it. We have the Wicker Man at Alton Towers which is about human sacrifice and we have The Smiler at Alton Towers which is all about scientific correction of human behaviour. Very cheery stuff!
So with a Minecraft Movie on its way in 2025 in addition to a Minecraft theme park land set to open in 2026 there’s certainly no stopping this IP which is still to this day the highest-selling video game of all time.
Minecraft is a 2011 sandbox game developed and published by Swedish video game developer Mojang Studios and it’s still going as strong as ever 13 years later with a whole host of spin-offs, merchandise, LEGO collaborations and now its own real-life movie along with a theme park land.

SCOTT O’NEIL, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS:
This is a significant milestone for Merlin, which reinforces our commitment to reaching new audiences through bold and captivating concepts, and directly supports our ambitions for growth. Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, and this world-first will see fans experience its thrill and creativity in real life, at theme parks and city-centre attractions in leading tourist destinations.
This initial investment is just the beginning, replicating Merlin’s tried-and-tested approach to globally launching new concepts and platforms, as we have with LEGO, Peppa Pig, Sony Pictures, CBeebies and others. This is an exciting opportunity for our Merlin Magic Making team, working collaboratively with Mojang Studios to bring cross-reality experiences, themed accommodation and other elements to life for the largest gaming community in the world.
The Minecraft Movie will be released on April 2nd, 2025 internationally and on April 4th in the United States of America.
