Pinocchio: Unstrung will be unleashed in UK cinemas from 24th July and a brand new trailer has been released today to celebrate its upcoming release.
As part of the ongoing twisted childhood universe films which saw the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey films get a small cult status we now have to deal with Gepetto (Richard Brake) unleashing Pinocchio upon the world with a horror scented twist.

Set to have its UK Premiere in June at this year’s Raindance Film Festival, where it’s been nominated for four awards, including Best UK Feature and Best Performance in a UK Feature for Richard Brake, the feature is a frightening new take on Carlo Collodi’s classic novel The Adventures of Pinocchio.
Whilst Brake will play Geppetto, Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert England will play Cricket.
The film comes from writer and director Rhys Frake-Waterfield (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey) and producer Scott Chambers (Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare), Pinocchio: Unstrung stars Richard Brake (Barbarian), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Cameron Bell in his feature debut.

Pinocchio: Unstrung is the latest addition to the Twisted Childhood Universe, which includes Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and its sequel, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, and Bambi: The Reckoning.
A red-band trailer has been released (not suitable for work) and surprisingly unlike that of Winnie-the-Pooh the cinematography and feel of the film feels of a much higher quality even from the brief look we get during the teaser.
Whilst coming across ridiculously cheesy there’s also a wild curiosity I have that just wants to check it out and see what it’s all about!
