What Happened to Macaulay Culkin?

Home Alone Scream

Macaulay Culkin the star of some of the coolest movies of my childhood including Home Alone, Richie Rich and My Girl was the powerhouse of his generation.

From child superstar to quite a downhill spiral as time went on, we take a look and ask ourselves. What happened to Macaulay Culkin?

Born in New York City, 1980 Culkin’s father Christopher Cornelius Culkin (Also known as Kit Culkin) was a former actor on Broadway and his mother Patricia Brentrup was a telephone operator. Culkin was the third of seven children, five boys and two girls.

Home Alone

Culkin began acting at the age of four and got his first break aged 9 in the movie Uncle Buck starring alongside John Candy only to land his infamous role of Kevin McCallister in Home Alone.

A role that defines his career to this very day. Film after film later Macaulay was quickly becoming a household name but at only the young age of 14,

Macaulay announced that he was retiring from acting due to family issues. Mainly his father Kit spending Macaulay’s money for his own personal gain.

During a messy divorce both Kit and Patricia went their seperate ways but both parents still wanted control over Macaulay’s amassed fortune.

Thankfully Macaulay was able to gain control of his own finances and as a result his father left without a trace.

Macaulay Culkin Drugs

What followed is a whirlwind of downward celebrity spiral as at the tender age of 17, Macauley dropped out of school and married Rachel Miner.

Their marriage only lasted two years and in 2002 Macauley was a single man until 2003 when he met Mila Kunis and they had a look eight year relationship together.

Macaulay tried to move back into acting but in the process was also being caught up in various drug posession charges and battling a Heroin addict.

Looking worse for wear and hanging around with known drug addicts and dodgy characters poor Macaulay was dragged through a life of grime until 2013 when it was announced he was to start up a band called The Pizza Underground.

Cover band

The Band toured as a Velvet Revolver cover band with the added bonus of handing out pizza to everyone at every show.

The Pizza Underground were set to play locally near me and for some reason unknown to me the show was cancelled.

Probably because the pizza around Stoke on Trent is real shitty.

Macauley has been through the rough and come out of the other side. Cleaning up his act and releasing various spoofs and comedy videos along the way. So what’s next for Macaulay Culkin? That detective spooner, is the right question.
