The Manson Family murders are some of the darkest days in Hollywood history.
The gruesome murders of 9 people at 4 locations in July and August of 1969 shocked not only LA but the world.
The infamous cult leader Charles Manson is one of the most notorious criminals out there.
Various movies have been made surrounding the Manson murders and 2019 marks 50 years since the Manson family killings.
Whilst films such as The Haunting of Sharon Tate are openly exploiting the murders for financial gain there is another more controversial step towards pushing boundaries. Murderabilia.
What is Murderabilia?
Murderabilia is a business of selling letters, art, items and even pieces of serial killers for profit. Charles Manson, John Wayne Gacy, and more notorious killers would profit from the sale of these items when they were alive. And they say crime doesn’t pay?
My stance on this controversial subject is that if the killer is alive the items should never be sold for profit. They don’t deserve to profit from the misery of others.
Many of these victims families and friends are still alive today and knowing the person who killed their family member or friend was making quick buck from it is quite sickening.
Where I stand on this is that once the killer in question has passed away then there should be free reign for the sale of items. For those who wish to purchase something rather odd, sometimes strange and some items even more disturbing.
I feel that the sale in question would be more a curiosity or intrigue purchase rather than money that goes into serial killer pockets.
Items such as letters give an incredible psychological analysis into the mind of a killer. Other items such as relics provide the creep factor and weave the tales for true crime enthusiasts.
With my opinion on the sale of Murderabilia out there I decided to purchase a strange little piece myself.
Charles Manson Murderabilia Relic
Thanks to Devin at Dark Memorabilia I got this Charles Manson Murderabilia hair sample relic display delivered.
Even creepier was the mail man hand delivering infamous cult leader Charles Manson to my doorstep!
The reason for this purchase is that I’m currently involved in a horror project.
Whilst that’s still under wraps when all is revealed I’ll look less like the creepy dude that just bought some cult leaders hair off the internet.
The piece in question is a few strands of hair all fully authenticated in an acrylic display. The trading card like display provides information on Charles Manson and the Manson cult and is a creepy piece indeed.
A piece of true-crime history regardless of your stance on its moral standpoint.
Having it around the house is totally fine. Nothing peculiar has occurred. I’m a sceptic through and through but when this piece does catch my eye I can’t deny it gives me a strange feeling.
Just my subconscious playing tricks on me but still an eerie little item indeed.
I speak regularly to blood artist Ryan Almighty. A man who owns some of Manson’s ashes and puts them into commissioned blood paintings.
I think that may just be the next item on the list for our creepy little horror project.

Devin from Dark Memorabilia also had this to say when we spoke to him:
“No profit from sales goes to criminals directly into their pockets. Not 1 penny from sales directly has gone to criminals from me.
I have had direct correspondence with some criminals and have not sent them 1 penny from the sales of memorabilia.
It may sound morbid to some but I dont see victims associated with the memorabilia directly.
I find it fascinating of why these criminals do what they do…not who they do it to.
I do understand why the victims/victims familys may not like what I do but no matter what you do in life theres always gonna be people that dont like what you do.
I’m a serious paranormal investigator as well and I run into people that hate me just from investigating the paranormal even tho my evidence is legit.
The paranormal gives me a glimpse into life and true crime gives me a glimpse into death.
Honestly I believe both should be researched more an both understood more as both these fields (true crime/paranormal) are highly misunderstood”
