Rambo: Last Blood – Stallone Brings the Thunder

Sly

RAMBO

In a very Taken style storyline John Rambo must save his granddaughter after she is kidnapped in Mexico and sold into sex slavery.

In John Rambo’s last outing we have a simple storyline that needs no explanation. It’s a simple setup from start to finish but it’s never dull even if we have seen it all before.

Rambo turns his ranch into a death trap and lures the mexican gangsters to his lair to invoke payback with gory results. The traps remind me of Saw crossed with The Collector series of horror flicks.

The gore, oh the gore, you can go into a Rambo movie knowing you’re going to see some sh*t and boy do you see some shit!

The closing credits of the Rambo: Last Blood pay a good respect to the Rambo films of the past but this still doesn’t feel like a send-off.

It almost feels like a temporary hiatus until another movie comes along.

It would be a shame to have this film be the last installment. Whilst it’s an improvement on the previous movie something still feels unfinished.

This may be down to the simplicity of the story. It’s a a disengage your brain and enjoy the mayhem sort of flick.

I was never bored at any given moment watching Rambo: Last Blood. Sylvester Stallone still has all the bad assery you could ask for. It’s crazy to me that both Sly and Arnie still have more bad ass charisma than any upcoming actor of the last decade. These guys are well and truly unreplacable.

Summary

Storyline goes out of the window in any Rambo movie. It’s all out, good old fashioned rampage fun. Gore filled and epic, Stallone brings the thunder in Rambo: Last Blood
