Episode 3 titled ‘What Happened in Vegas‘ focuses on the repercussions of the cheating scandal that rocked Kevin’s marriage.
Public and press spread the scandal like wildfire and we explore the affect it had on the couple and his relationship with his friends.
Kevin Hart: Don’t F**k This Up Episode 3 ‘What Happened in Vegas’ Netflix Review

The episode begins as emotional as they come. Here we are watching Eniko going through her emotions of the day she found out that Kevin had cheated on her whilst she was pregnant. It’s quite hard to watch but she believes Kevin is a better man because of it but even now it still hurts. You can see that.
It’s here where we hear Kevin’s side of the story, a tale of regret. A period in his life where he was on a bit of a spiral, a lapse of judgement and in his own words ‘the lowest moment of his life’.
It’s in this period he says how he was supported by all his friends and throughout TV appearances and touring they all supported each other like family.

It’s not all plain sailing thou, however. Friends fight and during this period of Kevin’s life his friends took the toll of the issues he was dealing with. For me, this was the strongest display of character I’ve seen in the series so far.
During a very heated argument with a friend, Kevin steps up, apologises almost immediately and sets things straight (spoiler alert for episode 4).
It takes a man to admit you’re in the wrong.
This scene alone showed the depth of friendship and brotherhood that this group share.
Strength in numbers. The Versace Shirt Night

A highlight of this episode is a Versace night in Paris where Kevin and his friends go shopping and they all wear Versace for a night. Such loud jackets and they just rock it together like a hippy looking band of brothers.
Through working out and touring he was able to grow as a person. He admitted his mistakes and moved forward. With Kevin as Executive Producer on this series that point is made very clearly but despite that fact, it does indeed appear genuine.
This is further backed up with Eniko’s account of the situation and the work that Kevin put in to make their marriage work again.
No one’s perfect and despite the publics idolisation of celebrities, they’re just like us. Believe it or not. Shocker I know!

Here’s when the real kicker drops. The cheating scandal was supposedly orchestrated allegedly by a friend of Kevin’s.
Kevin was recorded and the footage was used in an extortion scheme against him. The court cases are still ongoing so as Hart explains in the series he doesn’t know what to believe. As a result, he doesn’t want to comment on it in great detail.
Without trust, you’ve got nothing.
I said in my previous episode review that Kevin seems vulnerable. Being in the spotlight multiplies that tenfold and knowing who you can trust (especially in an industry like that) is crucial.
Overall
Trust is at the core of this episode. I like that throughout the entire series there’s always an underlying motto. It’s almost as thou every episode is a growth of character explanation for Kevin. It gives us a better insight at the same time.
Don’t F**k This Up is a series that is now cutting through the layers compared to the rather surface-level introduction we had in episode 1.
