World’s First Four-Sided ScreenX Technology Unveiled at CES

SCREENX 2020

Four Sided ScreenX 4DX Theatre

CJ 4DPLEX, the world’s leading cinema technology company and the masterminds behind 4DX and Screen-X have announced a brand new immersive theatre experience.

This brand new 4DX Screen will blend two technologies together for one hell of an experience. Combining 4DX and ScreenX and stepping it up that extra step with a screen on the ceiling to match!

Imagine being inside the cockpit of a fighter jet watching Top Gun: Maverick and you can see the sky all around you and your cockpit controls in front of you. Now combine the visuals with the 4DX effects. That would be one hell of an immersive experience!

The 4DX screen is the first of its kind in the world of cinema. The sidewalls of the auditorium are curved to a trapezoidal shape, diminishing image distortion to provide a more comfortable, and seamless panoramic viewing experience. On top of the unique trapezoidal screen structure is the ceiling screen that covers the remaining unused space of the auditorium.

4DX Floor Motion Chairs 2020

In addition to the new screens are brand new state-of-the-art 4DX motion chairs. This will be the most advanced form of the 4DX chair on the market. The chair will feature 10 times wider range of motions than the previous models.

That’s not it either! The company is also working on an ultra-wide zoom lens. This can reduce projection distance by 70%. As a result screen sizes can be up to three times bigger. It certainly allows the company to customize their auditoriums with much more efficiency and flexibility.

JongRyul Kim, CEO of CJ 4DPLEX said:

“Our company is dedicated to pioneering the cinematic industry to adapt to the rapidly evolving technology. We are confident that the latest 4DX Screen cinema, will deliver an enhanced cinema experience for existing movie-goers and attract young generations to the cinemas.”

This technology will be on display for the first time at CES Las Vegas beginning January 7th.
