BENQ W2700 Review: A Device to Take Us Back to the Movies

BENQ W2700 Review

Tech giants BENQ kindly sent us the BENQ W2700 projector and within seconds my home was a 4K movie theatre!

BenQ W2700 Review

Straight out of the box this 4K HDR projector is visually stunning. It feels heavy duty and well-built and instead of paying easily over £3000 for an HDR 4K projector this one is just a tad over £1000.

An absolute bargain that becomes apparent the second you turn this piece of kit on.

The projector is designed to produce image colors intended by the film’s director. Much sharper, more vibrant colors, more cinematic accuracy than your average projector.

The BENQ projector comes pre-calibrated to industry color standards and you are given a report of the calibration they have undertaken on your projector.

The unit has a short throw lens, built-in 5W speakers that pack a punch and is portable enough to play in any room size.

In the test video, I was in a very small bedroom and with an adjustable lens shift, you can easily display the projector on any plain size wall of your choice.

What’s In The Box?!

Upon turning the device on the BENQ menu asks you how you are displaying your projector.

You choose your menu and within seconds you’re up and running.

The remote control contains all the intricate menus to satisfy the savviest tech guy or gal out there.

Straight out of the box with HDR on auto the projector does most of the work for you.

The product video was shot on an iPhone X and it doesn’t quite do the picture justice, it has to be seen to be believed. It truly is stunning.

Overall

BENQ W2700

The BENQ W2700 projector is the perfect budget 4K HDR cinema experience.

You get more bang for your buck and straight out of the box you get a cinema experience to rival the more expensive brands.

Attractive, portable and powerful this projector has it all. If I had any negatives to say about it I really would be nit-picking.

Naturally, projectors get warm and this one is no exception so make sure it’s in an open well-ventilated area.

I also had one small issue where the projector wouldn’t completely turn off, it was a little buggy. A quick reset and we were back to normal for full testing.

I’m certainly not a tech reviewer, just a movie fan and watching the 007 No Time to Die trailer on the big screen instantly took me back to the movies and that’s all I can ask for.

But don’t listen to me ramble on about it why don’t you see for yourselves?
