Avengers Campus is coming to Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort.

One main feature of the land will be a new Spider-Man themed attraction with an animatronic that brings a scary level of realism to the area.

This fully-functioning animatronic flips and flies through the air. Completely mechanical with a human-like movement and swing. Watching the footage (seen below) you’d easily mistake this for CGI.

The Spider-Man animatronic will fly above the Avengers Campus and won’t be solely part of the new Spider-Man attraction. The animatronic will weave in and above the crowds.

Imagine walking through the attraction with your family and friends, looking up and seeing your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man swinging above you.

Waly Disney Imagineering were working on the ‘stunt’ performers animatronic concept more than a year ago.

Just imagining this flying above a theme park themed area is quite enticing indeed. The level of tech combined with the detail of the figure has me salivating at the thought.

Could you imagine if these figures are making their way to UK shores in the not too distant future?

With the success of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and now with this announcement Disney are setting the benchmark of theme park immersion.

Whilst Avengers Campus will much smaller than its Star Wars counterpart the Disneyland Spider-Man animatronic is certain to draw attention.

The Avengers Campus area is set to open this summer. A new Spider-Man attraction and a Doctor Strange show will be part of the introductory phase of the area.

An E-ticker Avengers experience will be added at a much later date for phase 2.
