Do the No Time to Die Song Lyrics Spoil A Key Plot Point?

No Time Die Poster

The brand new Bond theme song has just been released from Billie Eilish and people are absolutely loving it so far.

It certainly wipes the floor with Sam Smith’s ‘Writing on the Wall’ for me and gives ‘Skyfall’ a good run for its money!

But do the lyrics of the song spoil a major plot point of the movie?

No Time to Die Song Lyrics

Below I have written out the song lyrics for the movie by ear. So naturally, I will have no doubt made a few mistakes here and there but you get the gist!

Verse 1

I should’ve known

I’d leave alone (A Secret has been revealed)

Just goes to show

That the blood you bleed is just the blood you own (Pain and suffering )

We were a pair (Bond and Madeleine Swann)

But I saw you there

Too much to bare

You were my life but life is far away from fair

Interlude

(Regrets) Was I stupid to love you

(Stepped in to save them) Was I reckless to help

Was it obvious to everybody else

Chorus

That Id fallen for a lie (A reference to Bond being betrayed in the trailer)

You were never on my side

Fool me once

Fool me twice

Are you death or paradise

Now you’ll never see me cry

There’s just no time to die

Verse 2

I let it burn

You’re not longer my concern

Faces from my past return (Blofeld or it could be Rami Malek’s link to Madeleine or someone else entirely)

Another lesson yet to learn

Chorus

That Id fallen for a lie

You were never on my side

Fool me once

Fool me twice

Higher there than paradise (couldn’t make this bit out)

Now you’ll never see me cry

There’s just no time to die

Refrain

No time die

No time to die

Outro

Fool me once

Fool me twice

Higher there than paradise

Now you’ll never see me cry

There’s just more time to die

No Time to Die Song Lyrics

This song could be interpreted in two ways. Billie could be singing from either the perspective of Bond or of Madeleine Swann.

It’s clear that a secret has been unveiled. Our only frame of reference of this is in the trailer where Madeleine is saying to James “Why would I betray you?”

The secret in question could be Madeline’s relation to Rami Malek’s character. It’s from this perspective of Bond that we could use in the song saying he’d be better off if he hadn’t met her.

On the flip side we have Madeline’s perspective where she could have found something out about James Bond.

No doubt linked to Blofeld and another detail that is yet absent from scenes shown so far.

It really could go either way.

There’s only one way to find out and that’s to watch the movie!
