McMillion tells the story of the infamous McDonalds Monopoly scam that I just can’t quite wrap my head around. Rack up those cheeseburgers and let’s take a look at this mind-boggling unmissable piece of television.

HBO’s latest series takes us into the world of McDonald’s but rather than a succulent Big Mac taste, this is a series that leaves a taste of the sour kind in your mouth.
The documentary tells the story of the infamous McDonald’s Monopoly Game fraud where from 1989 to 2001 an ex-cop managed to scam $24 million in cash and prizes through the McDonalds Monopoly.
In quite the bold, brave and overall stupid move it’s absolutely gobsmacking that he got away with this fraud for 12 years!

Where this series comes into its own is focusing on the personal stories of those involved.
The lengths that people will go to for financial security.
What I do enjoy about HBO is the fact they make us wait for the next episode. They don’t release the entire series at once.
This helps to ramp the tension and anticipation for the next episode and makes the watch more worthwhile when it finally arrives.
Nick Clement gave us his mini-review of McMillions:
This is totally wild – two episodes have aired and are available to stream via HBO, and new installments air on Sunday nights for the next three weeks.
How a feature version of this mind-boggling story hasn’t gotten off the ground yet makes no sense (it’s been in development hell forever) as the narrative particulars are too hilarious and insane to believe – but yes – apparently it’s all true!
Everything gets out of hand – so quickly – with the McDonald’s Monopoly scam, that it’s insane to think that they got away with it for as long as they did.
