Tiger King Review: Undeniably Absurd Yet Entertaining

Tiger King Netflix Still

Tiger King tells the story of the rise and fall of Joseph Schreibvogel, a.k.a. Joe Exotic the owner of an exotic animal park in Oklahoma. Here’s our Tiger King review from none other than Nick Clement.

Tiger King Review

This Netflix documentary series presents a painfully vivid and slap-your-face-absurd snapshot of America right now. It shows us exactly how we arrived at this moment in time and we deserve it.

Tiger King showcases an ensemble of oxygen-deprived butt-nuts who know absolutely no bounds when it comes to intense personal derangement and rampant stupidity.

There’s so much Joe Exotic contained herewithin to make the world continue spinning for eons upon eons, and all throughout, I felt extremely bad for the otherwise glorious animals who were subjected to this backwoods idiocy.

Undeniably entertaining and a welcome distraction from our current state of continually deteriorating affairs because you can guilt-free laugh at these morons and not with them.

Overall

Tiger King is one of those chaotic displays of true-life insanity that can’t adequately be summed up with words.

A straight wedding, a three-way gay wedding and tigers. Tiger King is all very campy and complicated.

Maldonado (One of Joe’s husbands) met his demise with an accidental suicide. He removed a magazine from a pistol to show that it wouldn’t fire without it despite bullets in the chamber.

The incident is part of the docuseries and is displayed in the Netflix documentary.

Ashley Maldonado (Travis’s sister) posted the following on Facebook after the documentary aired:

A WARNING TO ANYONE WHO WATCHES THIS….WHO KNEW TRAVIS… im w my dad and sister watching it now….. IT SHOWS THE REAL LIVE FOOTAGE OF THE ACTUAL SHOOTING – not Travis himself but the guy in the room with Travis when it happened …. it happened so fast.. i have seen the surveillance footage already but my sister Danielle hadnt and she f*cking lost her sh*t right now… so i just wanted to warn you.
