Trying comedy series starring Rafe Spall, Esther Smith and Imelda Staunton premiering Friday, May 1 on Apple TV+

Apple today debuted the official trailer for the brand new 8 episode Trying comedy series.
This brand new British comedy series revolves around a thirtysomething couple and their friends learning to grow up, settle down and find someone to love.
The show is written by Andy Wolton and directed by Jim O Hanlon (“Catastrophe,” “The Punisher,” ”A Touch Of Cloth”).
All Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) want is a baby—but it’s the one thing they just can’t have.
How are they going to fill the next 50 years if they can’t start a family?
After ruling out every other option, Nikki and Jason decide to adopt and are confronted by a world of bewildering new challenges.
With their dysfunctional friends, screwball family, and chaotic lives, will the adoption panel agree that they’re ready to be parents?
Starring BAFTA nominee Esther Smith, SAG nominee Rafe Spall, alongside BAFTA Award winner Imelda Staunton, Ophelia Lovibond, and Oliver Chris, “Trying” is produced by BBC Studios.

Trying will debut on Apple TV+ on May 1st.
The trailer really took me by surprise. Genuinely heartwarming and funny.
It’s rare in itself for a British comedy series to be funny anymore so it was nice to have a cheesy little grin on my face watching this one.
With such a great cast attached, I certainly think this will be one to watch.

Only a few weeks remain before it debuts this May on the Apple streaming service.
AppleTV+ is available through the AppleTV app.
AppleTV is available for £4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
For a limited time, only customers who purchase a new Apple product can enjoy one year of AppleTV+ for free.
