Gordon Gino and Fred Episode 2 From Studio Ramsay GORDON GINO & FRED AMERICAN ADVENTURE Ep 2. ‘What Happens in Vegas’ Thursday 9th April 2020 on ITV Pictured: Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix take a selfie as they hit the craps tables in Caesars Palace, Las Vagas with the help of some local showgirls. Finally, the boys are in America and Gordon wants to show USA virgins Fred & Gino that the food and fresh produce is off the chart. But first, with the Grand Canyon on many a bucket list, the guys take in this wonder of the world by helicopter, great idea until Gino farts. Next it’s a spot of trout fishing on the Colorado River which sees Gordon and Fred wind up in the drink, but Gino cooks up a treat using their RV outdoor grill, before the chaps bed down riverside. The next day, surrounded by motorbikes, the boys find themselves caught up in a convoy on the way to Las Vegas, where they indulge in one of the most expensive beef burgers on the planet. But their luck doesn’t last long in sin city and after a night at the casino they’re on the road again to experience the real wild west. After helping to herd the cattle the boys sample some delicious grass-fed beef, the boys hit Route 66 to Los Angeles. Being Gordon’s home from home he drops Gino & Fred off to be tinsel town tourists before they’re all reunited at Gordon’s house to eat more burgers. This time it’s Gordon’s all-American offering against Gino & Fred’s Euro burger. With Gordon’s mum Helen as the judge, it’s not hard to guess who ends up carrying out the forfeit of jumping naked into Gordon’s pool. Gordon, Gino and Fred Episode 2 kicks off with the boys going to Vegas! Here’s our review of this hilarious second episode of the series.

Gordon Gino and Fred Episode 2 review
Gordon Gino & Fred American Adventure: Every Wednesdays at 9 pm on ITV

As soon as all of this craziness is over I’m packing a bag and heading to Vegas for a week or so. It’s been on my bucket list for far too long and this current pandemic is making me realise that life is short and all opportunities should be grasped with both hands.

Thankfully, without me lifting a finger Gordon Ramsey, Gino D’acampo and Fred Sirieix are showing me the Vegas experience from the comfort of my living room!

After the hilarious episode 1 which saw the guys in Mexico the trio head to Nevada and begin the next phase of their trip in style.

Flying over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter is always on the Vegas bucket list the cinematography during these scenes is mouth-watering, an adjective that seems perfect to describe the cuisine on display as the episode rolls on.

The episode starts straight into the heart of the comedy as Gino tries his hardest not to throw up on board the helicopter. Nothing like a bit of vomit to kickstart a cooking show.

But the magic of Gordon, Gino and Fred makes this no ordinary cuisine show. The show is a brotherly road trip that doesn’t focus on just the food.

It’s all about friendship, culture and exploring the bond that these three share with laugh out loud moments from start to finish.

Episode 2 has the trio go trout fishing, exploring the Las Vegas Strip and the Wild West before meeting Gordon’s mum in Bel Air to finish off proceedings.

As shown in episode 1 the competitiveness of Gordon is admirable. He has to be the best at everything but with Fred and Gino having not done many of the activities that Gordon has presented to them it’s clear to see this was set up to make Gordon look good.

Rightly so if his production company are behind the show!

“Fred, I’ve done fishing more than you’ve served plates…I could spend all day and all night here. Can I just tell you something really truthfully? The only time I get to relax any time of the year is when I’m fishing.”

Says Gordon whilst they’re fishing in the mighty Colorado River.

Gordon and Fred jump in a canoe to hunt for fish whilst Gino sits on the top of the RV with a rod and takes in the surroundings.

15 minutes into the show and I’m already drooling over the first dish. An American trout dish with a prickly pear cactus twist. Gino’s work complimented by Gordon in a very surprising twist.

ITV are providing the ultimate tease putting this show on at 9 pm, straight after tea and already more mouth-watering dishes are on display. It reminds me of the late showings of Man V Food that were on the air at 1-2 am in the morning and had me lying in bed dying for a burger or rack of ribs. The ultimate torture.

Not only does my belly rumble throughout this episode but it laughs until it hurts.

This is the ONLY programme we all need in our lives right now.

Gordon, Gino and Fred Episode 2 really comes into its element when the guys hit Vegas. After the rather relaxing segment on the river, we now have the sights and sounds of Vegas that perfectly matches the spirited trio.

It’s here where the guys take a look at a $777 burger! I mean, if you’re really hungry and I mean REALLY hungry (and drunk enough) you’d certainly get one of these!

Made from American Wagyu beef, sliced lobster, foie gras, pancetta and American goats’ cheese all topped with 100-year-old balsamic vinegar.

To Fred’s horror, the burger is served accompanied with vintage champagne:

“Why do you have this kind of champagne with a burger? It’s like a sacrilege.

It’s very difficult to eat this kind of food without a fork and a knife. You obviously are both straight from the cave but in France we are a bit more sophisticated.”

As they indulge in the essence that is Las Vegas they visit Caesars Palace and I’m just taking in every single shot in this segment eager to visit.

This is where Gino comes into his element with his cheeky humour that builds the tears in my eyes with laughter for the first time this episode. But certainly not the last.

After this laugh out loud segment and a horseback scene later the gang take a trip down Route 66 and the episode ends in a cheeky and cheerful segment in Los Angeles.

You don’t want to miss it!

Overall

This episode was so well balanced from start to finish. My emotions (and my tastebuds) are thrown all over the place.

Long may this series continue and Gino needs to release an acoustic guitar compilation of all of his medley’s. I’d buy them in a heartbeat!

Summary

I don’t want this series to end ever. From laughs a minute to exploring some beautiful places in America and not to mention some beautiful food, there isn’t a better programme on the television right now!
