With Christmas being a happy time of year its strange to see programmes like this and Dracula around Christmas.
Shows that are dark, forboding and almost Halloween esque in their colour palette and tones throughout.
Nick is based in the US so he’s only just seen this particular show but we had it around the Christmas period here in the UK.
Here’s what he thought of A Christmas Carol!
A Christmas Carol 2019 Review

Scottish business tycoon Mr. Scrooge faces some big changes when a trio of atypical spirits pay him a visit at Christmas time.
Directed, produced and written by David Izatt alongside other produces including Stuart Brennan, David Izatt and Shish Bankapur.
This was some heavy-duty business to kick off the new year! But damn!
The show was a wowser on all levels.
Especially Steven Knight’s sensational dialogue and the riveting performances from Guy Pearce, Andy Serkis, Joe Alwyn, and Stephen Graham.
Production values were of a very high caliber (Ridley Scott and Tom Hardy were also producers) and the classic material was given a nifty aesthetic overhauling, both in written and visual terms, with Nick Murphy’s stylish direction always keeping things interesting.
Certainly not a film to put a spring in your step this holiday season.
A film to permanently ground you in its dark nature as it weaves a tale almost as chilling as the Dracula tv series over on the other channel!
But certainly a show that gives you just the wallop you need to keep you alert and ready for 2020!

Summary
Currently streaming on BBC One, FX and Hulu. This is an emotional bruiser that provides that introspective wallop everyone needs from time to time.
