A Horror Hangout Is Unleashed as The Crypt Cafe In Blackpool Opens Today

Situated in Birley Street, The Crypt Cafe in Blackpool is a brand new horror hangout that will be the place to go for all horror fans.

The Crypt Blackpool Cafe

Owned by Kurt Walsh who once owned the infamous Horror Crypt on Ocean Boulevard by the Pleasure Beach.

This once animatronic and movie prop wonderland was closed this year as Kurt relocated to the Birley Street location.

The Crypt consists of a wonderfully themed cafe with some familiar Horror Crypt favourites lining the walls of the cafe.

Freddy Krueger The Crypt Blackpool

Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees greet you on one side with The Crypt Keeper, Dracula and Frankenstein lining the other.

With such wonderfully themed walls the rest of the cafe is lined with horror movie merchandise and clothing.

Kurt only moved into the property two weeks ago and the turnaround to get up and running such a short space of time is impressive indeed.

Rest assured this certainly isn’t the finished article.

There is more planned for the Blackpool horror hangout with the upstairs of the store holding something special in the pipeline for the distant future.

The Crypt Cafe Blackpool

Any business that can open up in the current climate we’re living in deserves to be applauded.

Upon entering the property it has a nice feel to it. Whilst not fully completed it still somehow felt homely with a classic episode of The Addams Family playing on the TV and some wonderfully gothic themed mugs that held our coffee.

With a unique menu (including Pot Noodles) full of goodies that bring those home comforts alive.

I couldn’t say no to a good ol fashioned Original Curry Pot Noodle!

The Crypt is definitely the place to come and hangout with likeminded individuals as you celebrate all things horror.

Similar to the venue itself I can only imagine the menu will evolve as the venue evolves with it.

The space has such a wonderful feel to it already and the potential is endless for its future.

Being a new space, the expansion plans and additions are endless.

Just think of how many animatronics and horror pieces from The Horror Crypt are waiting in a storage  somewhere just waiting to be unleashed within this new establishment.

I want to express my deepest thanks to Kurt for allowing us to be the first people to come down and see what the cafe is all about.

Horror fans. This place is not to be missed!
