Hi there! My name is Sean Evans and I’m the founder of the independent film news, review and entertainment website Back To The Movies that you’re reading this very second.
I’m a college-skipping Stokie who gets so passionately worked up about various topics that spelling, grammar and the English language go right out of the window!
Based in Staffordshire in the UK I set up this little film and entertainment blog as a hobby and within months I was in Los Angeles working on my first feature film.
Fast forward years later and I’m still here working and you’re still here reading.

Bored of going to college day after day I used to leave the house, catch the bus, whizz past my college and go to the local film store to pick up the latest film for sale with my dinner money.
Myself and a few friends would bunk the rest of the day off college and watch whatever I had picked up that day.
Skip forward a couple of years to my 21st birthday and Back to the Movies was born.
My girlfriend at the time had an idea of collecting celebrity video messages to celebrate the special occasion so I emailed agents and some celebrities directly and got some responses.
Knowing how easy at the time it was to reach out to these guys I set up a page and started to interview a few names and review a few movies.

Working from home I have established the Back To The Movies brand into a trusted resource to catch up on entertainment news.
All content is chosen based on things I personally like and isn’t structured as your standard film site would be.

It’s still got that personal, homemade feel.
The site is a one-man band 99% of the time but I do have help from some incredible contributors now and again.

Back to the Movies was initially created with the aim to talk about movies the way you would talk to your friends about them.
No critics, just fans.

Being authentic and yourself is rare in today’s world of fabricated social media so we aim to break through the illusion and deliver truthful and honest content.
I’ve never been one to shy away from speaking my mind.

Back to the Movies has a loyal and dedicated fanbase because of our honesty and the website is currently one of the most influential independent film blogs in the UK as voted for by Vuelio.

Starting at 18 hour days 7 days a week my blogging work has taken me from Stoke on Trent all the way to Hollywood to work on various movies.

My first movie being Fear Clinic the Movie starring Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street) and Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.

In addition to specializing in Marketing and Advertising, Back to the Movies has allowed me to be a part of various productions in a Producing role.
Not to mention various other on set duties.

In January 2016, I was employed as Chief Marketing Officer and shareholder for a Kansas City / Las Vegas-based Augmented Reality gaming company.
With my marketing background, I gained over 100 million worldwide views of their product over a short period of time.

The game’s demo was featured in some of the biggest press outlets in the world.
The game broke records by taking a demo into the Top 10 and then into the Top 5 paid apps on the US App-Store.
A feat that to my knowledge had never been achieved before from a small independent company with a 10-minute horror game demo.

Our little product was in the mix alongside multi-million dollar companies.
It’s one of my proudest achievements!

Around the same time in 2016, I was published in the Amazon bestseller A Million Dollar Blog. A book guiding people towards starting their own blogs and a book featuring some of the most financially successful bloggers in the country.
I was very proud to be included in this book alongside some huge blogging figures.
It’s safe to say I felt very out of my depth but I was honoured to be asked at such an early stage of my blogging career.
I have also been featured in various online publications such as The Hollywood Reporter, The Wrap and The LA Times.

I’ve also featured on the three-time Emmy Award-winning TV show Mark at the Movies and Extra Butter which are both movie talk shows based in California.
Many of the blogs in the top 10 have numerous staff members so to be for the most part a one-man band in amongst that list is an honour.

But with that said, I’d knuckle down in college so you have something to fall back on, just in case.
Better safe than sorry.
Good luck out there!
If this college skipping Stokie can do it, you can too!
