Seventeen years in the waiting Bad Boys are back with a third instalment! We have Marcus Burnett becoming a grandfather and thinking about retiring.
On the other hand, we have Mike Lowrey wanting to be Bad Boys FOR LIFE (literally). But we have a dilemma.
Mike is also being hunted down by a Mexican drug lord and her son. Will they team up one last time?
Bad Boys For Life ScreenX Review

Everything in this movie is near perfection. Both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence aren’t just going through the gears for nostalgia’s sake we have two dedicated actors amping the action to 11 in this absolutely breathtaking movie of heart, comedy and insanely crazy action scenes.
Paying tribute to Michael Bay we have over the top action stunts and more. Explosions aplenty and the movie kicks off in a beautiful Porsche during a car chase with hilarious results.
We have so many little winks and nods to previous instalments. Dropping comments about blue pills (Bad Boys 2), having one good asscheek working (Bad Boys 2) and even a plane flying over the Miami sign (Bad Boys).

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys for Life
The storylines are simple and that’s the magic of the franchise. It doesn’t need depth when there’s chemistry. We already know and love these characters and all we need to see is them in their element and having a ball.
Our antagonist is probably the weakest of the franchise and towards the end of the movie the ending does feels a little rushed and a bit silly actually but that’s my only negative of the film. Everything up until the big end reveal is solid.
The film has managed to keep that insane hook that reeled us all in many years ago and bring it into the modern-day with a modern twist.
Whilst it looks more Fast and Furious than Bad Boys it still feels right. This is a much better movie than I was anticipating and that’s all I could ever ask for.

Returning characters aplenty (even Reggie!) it’s just a big bundle of nostalgia whilst at the same time being fresh and progressive. Our new and upcoming heroes in the AMMO squad (a team supporting Mike and Marcus on their mission) are all great in their roles. We have Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Charles Melton supporting our leads with ease.
They fit in seamlessly without breaking up the dynamic duo’s chemistry and it all just works. That’s the one thing we were all worried about when a third movie was announced. Asking ourselves if a Bad Boys movie would work in the modern-day and it does, in spades.
The franchise has been catapulted into a revitalized modern-day and with how this one ended, there may be more in store for us yet.
Roll on Bad Boys 4
Screen X Experience

Three screens in an auditorium make for quite the viewing experience. A full 270-degree field of vision and the Screen X technology is an interesting one indeed.
The side screens kick in during certain scenes such as large panoramic shots or driving scenes where your field of view is sent into overdrive. You suddenly feel like you’re inside a room that has got considerably smaller.
The experience is an immersive one but our screen in Manchester was much smaller than other ScreenX cinemas i’ve viewed. The two black bars either side of the central screen was a slight distraction also. A curved screen would have worked wonders!

When the extra two screens kick in we are catapulted into the moment. Our seats were quite far back so I was worried that the immersion would be limited. Thankfully, it didn’t stop it from being a very immersive experience. Especially during those panoramic shots, my god they looked beautiful!
I can only imagine how incredible the experience would have been closer to the front. Between this and 4DX thou, however, I think 4DX is an all-round more immersive experience but Screen-X is certainly something you should witness!

Bad Boys For Life ScreenX Review by Sean Evans
Summary
17 years apart feels like 17 days apart when both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence appeared on the silver screen once again. The incredible chemistry they share fill Bad Boys for Life with heart and outlandish action sequences. Such a strong third instalment and we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing this film doesn’t suck.
Quite the opposite, in fact, Bad Boys for Life is a strong instalment that is sadly let down by a rather rushed ending. Up until the third act, things are nothing short of nostalgic brilliance.
