July 16th will see the arrival of the Batman Unmasked exhibition as the Warner Bros archives have been explored once again to bring this incredible display of props, costumes and movie vehicles to the UK.

I love nothing more than a prop exhibition but Batman Unmasked is set to catapult guests straight into the films with replica sets and photo opportunities galore as The Depot Mayfield (3 mins walk from Piccadilly station) will be transformed into all things Batman this summer.
Guests will come face to face with such items as the Mr Freeze costume, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn costume, the nurse outfit worn by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight and there’s not forgetting an assortment of Batmobiles and Batpods on display.
It’s been a while since I visited the Warner Bros studio tour but their Batman exhibition and display was some of the most incredible time I spent out there in the states, they had absolutely everything on display for us fans to drool over.

Just seeing the level of detail and engineering that goes into creating the Batmobiles to the intricate costumes and beautifully designed props. Exhibitions like this give you a real appreciation for the time and effort that goes into making the motion pictures.
From the original Batman movie all the way up to the recent Robert Pattison movie The Batman there will be something for everyone at Batman Unmasked and with a comic book/gaming space at the end of the exhibition there’s even more reason to stay beyond the advertised 45 mins exhibition completion time estimate.
Celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the Caped Crusader there is a special retail store at the end selling lots of anniversary merchandise in addition to classic Batman attire.

Manchester will host the exhibition starting on July 16th and will run until August 26th before it’s shipped off to London’s Covent Garden from September 6th all the way up to November 3rd.
There’s plenty of time to see the exhibition and tickets are set to go on sale later this week so please keep an eye on the official website for all updates and ticketing information.
For an idea of what the exhibition items are going to be like you can check out our DC Dawn of Super-Heroes exhibition review.

The costumes, vehicles and space will be different but you get an idea of what the event is roughly going to be like. That exhibition was very impressive indeed but at the time we felt it was missing some set designs / immersive experiences for guests to dive into.
Some of the displays were very bland and basic and whilst the artwork on display was worth an absolute fortune it still felt quite empty and sparse and way too formal. Celebrating Batman and the DC universe should be a fun experience, don’t take it seriously, embrace the fun!
I can’t wait to check out Batman Unmasked when it arrives in Manchester next month, I’d love more of these movie pop-up exhibitions but sadly they’re a rarity with the last one I attended being the Back to the Future exhibition in London last March, you can watch that video HERE.
