What Is Halloween at Waterworld Stoke Like?

Pennywise

Blood River

It’s only been a couple of months since I was last at Waterworld Stoke for the opening of Tornado Alley, the incredible new extension at the water park consisting of 4 new high-octane rides.

Halloween season is fast approaching and this year Waterworld invited me down to watch the waters run blood red this fall.

An annual tradition of dying the water red as blood fountains rained from the sky and dyed the water. In a scene reminiscent of Jaws this sent the crowd into raptures.

With a horror DJ rocking some classics, a new scare maze and riding the brand new rides in total darkness, Waterworld is THE place to be this Halloween season.

Scare Maze

Waterworld Horror

After what has been an October of scare mazes I have to be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for Waterworld. If the scare maze at For the Love of Horror (the biggest UK horror convention) wasn’t scary then I’m pretty sure a kids water park one wouldn’t be.

I was wrong. Whilst I wouldn’t say I was scared (I’m kind of numb to them now) the level of detail was stunning. I really went in with zero expectations and came out pleasantly surprised. I was even jump scared at the end which is no mean feat!

The Purge Scare Maze

As you crawl through the sewer tunnel a Pennywise met me halfway and stared into my soul.

As you come out of the sewer you’re in the clown’s domain before making your way into Freddy’s boiler room.

Whilst the Freddy mask was poor the room was incredibly detailed. That’s the one thing I always look for in scare mazes, mask detail. I still don’t have a bad word to say about the mask thou because even Pasaje Del Terror uses a god awful Freddy mask and their boiler room set is incredible!

The Ring Waterworld

The next room was The Purge room with the TV on, and a poor person being slaughtered.

I could have stayed in these rooms all day! Into the next room, we had a creepy nun in the corner who never blinked once and a Reagan on the bed mid possession.

Finally, we’re into a forest with Samara from The Ring in the well ready to claim my soul. I gave her a wave and told her she needed to wait 7 days for that!

VLOG

A very impressive scare maze at Waterworld Stoke that the designers and actors alike should be proud of. A great atmosphere and a great night!

The 4 new rides use natural light to brighten the journey. With it being late and dark outside, it was a creepy plunge into total darkness. You didn’t know where you were going, or what time you were going to drop.

This anticipation made the rides ten times better than the high bar they have already set for UK slides.
