After that slow burner that was episode 4, we are injected with shot after shot of adrenaline in the penultimate episode. Here’s our Breaking Dad Episode 5 review.
For the penultimate leg of their journey, Bradley and Barney head to Italy, starting in the picturesque Lake Garda, where Barney surprises his dad by explaining they’ll be running off the top of Monte Baldo and paragliding over the lake below.
Soon after, Bradley takes a dip in the lake when he tries paddleboard yoga.
The next day the guys travel to the River Po for a boat trip like no other, as Bradley is treated to a hair-raising ride in a Formula 1 speed boat.
They then head towards the coast for an incredible surprise when father and son are invited to the home of opera superstar, Andrea Bocelli.
Paragliding
Jumping straight into this episode we have Barney and Bradley paragliding over Lake Garda and after Barney egged his instructor on to do some tricks in the air he made himself throw up and ruled himself out of the next challenge.
Meanwhile, Bradley, whilst scared to death of the heights took it in his stride and was more worried about his son doing spirals towards the floor ending in a very sick Barney taking shelter in the back of the RV for quite a large portion of the show.
Paddleboard Yoga
Bradley has the time of his life just trying to stand up on the yoga board and this short but sweet segment was no doubt cut shorter due to Barney’s absence but not to worry, it’s not long before Barney is feeling better and back in the front seat with his dad talking about the next challenge.
Formula 1 Speed Boat
Poor Bradley went through some staggering G-forces in this particular segment but could only last so long. That thing is absolutely rapid and Barney didn’t take part in this segment either, he must have really done himself in with the paragliding!
A Private Show
To end a superb show Bradley and Barney take a trip to Andrea Bocelli’s house for a private show as Barney treated his dad to this serenade as a present for his dad’s birthday.
What a beautiful house Andrea Bocelli has complete with marble kerb stone paving the street where his house resides!
How the other half live eh?
It’s crazy how quickly this series has one and next Monday will see the season finale for this rather wonderful show.
Certainly a step up from last weeks episode!
