Let’s just imagine for a second that The Inbetweeners left Joe Thomas who plays Simon alone at a music festival for a bit and we have the movie The Festival.
Full of shit, piss and all sorts of childish jokes I still had a big grin on my face like a little child throughout this particular feature.
I’m a simple-minded guy who enjoys simple-minded humour and whilst The Festival was a raging techno mad-fest for the majority of its duration it still brought a smile to my face with its balls-out craziness and very accurate portrayal of a music festival experience.

The Mud-soaked reality of a festival captured perfectly as The Festival fully encompasses the overall shitty experience that a festival brings outside of the incredible acts performing on-stage.
The story revolves around Nick (Thomas) who after splitting up with his girl Caitlin (Hannah Tointon) goes to a music festival with his best friend Shane (Hammed Animashaun) and well; that’s about it really.
The rest of the film is the festival experience, the ups and downs, partying with a gang of smurfs and a few drug and alcohol-induced one night stands and how Shane wants to eagerly meet his favourite DJ Hammerhead (played by the rather hilarious Noel Fielding).
Whilst the film does try and force a romance theme down our throats with Shane and a crazy festival goer called Amy (Claudia O’Doherty) this relationship takes a backseat to more childish (yet hilarious) jokes.

If you loved The Inbetweeners you can’t go far wrong with The Festival, it’s childishly hilarious and well worth a watch!
Easily one of the best comedy films of the summer but that’s not really saying much is it…
Summary
If you loved The Inbetweeners you can’t go wrong with this carbon copy comedy feature set at a music festival. Sit back, disengage the brain as you’re not going to need it and enjoy childish humour at its finest.
