The West End will have a hilarious new holiday spectacular this Christmas with a ‘Christmas Carol Goes Wrong’.
Fresh off celebrating a decade of side-splitting success with The Play That Goes Wrong at the Duchess Theatre and gearing up for the highly anticipated premiere of The Comedy of Spies at the Noël Coward Theatre this April, the multi-award-winning Mischief Theatre is set to return to the West End for a predictably calamitous Christmas season! Brace yourselves as Mischief unveils its latest festive fiasco – Christmas Carol Goes Wrong.
This brand-new Yuletide comedy will embark on a whirlwind UK tour, kicking off at The Lowry in Salford on 2 November 2025. From there, the show stumbles its way through the Cheltenham Everyman Theatre, the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, and the Theatre Royal Bath before making its grand entrance into London’s Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, for a strictly limited seven-week season from Saturday 6 December 2025 to Sunday 25 January 2026.

The festive mischief doesn’t stop there! Once the curtain falls in the West End, the production will continue to bring joyful chaos to audiences across the UK until March 2026, visiting the Nottingham Theatre Royal, Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre, the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, the King’s Theatre in Glasgow, and finally wrapping up at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.
Written by Mischief’s original masterminds—Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields—Christmas Carol Goes Wrong welcomes back the riotous Cornley Amateur Dramatic Society as they take on Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday classic, A Christmas Carol.
However, true to Cornley tradition, their version is set to be a festive fiasco filled with epic miscommunication, disastrous set malfunctions, missing actors, and an escalating power struggle over who gets to play the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Will Cornley finally put on a seamless performance, or will Christmas past, present, and future collapse into complete catastrophe?
Jonathan Sayer, Mischief’s co-writer and performer, shared his excitement:
We can’t wait to bring a brand-new ‘Goes Wrong’ title to the stage. Reuniting with the Cornley characters has been an absolute joy, and we’re looking forward to spreading Christmas chaos with audiences throughout the festive season!
A special Gala Performance will take place on Sunday 14 December 2025 at 5pm, promising an evening of uproarious laughter and holiday merriment.
General tickets go on sale Monday 10th March however, Mischief fans and Nimax bookers can secure their seats early with a priority 10am booking on Friday 7th March.
Don’t miss out on the most catastrophically funny Christmas production of the year! Whether you’re a long-time Mischief fan or a newcomer to their uproarious world, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong promises a night of festive mayhem, mirth, and total theatrical disaster. So, don’t be a Scrooge—book your tickets now for the merriest mishap of the season!
