Lionsgate released the Cobweb horror trailer today and there’s something hiding in the walls, but what could it be?

Cobweb Poster

Eight-year-old Peter is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside his bedroom wall – a tapping that his parents insist is all in his imagination.

As Peter’s fear intensifies, he believes that his parents (Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr) could be hiding a terrible, dangerous secret and questions their trust. And for a child, what could be more frightening than that?

Cobweb Movie

Starring Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield, Mean Girls), Antony Starr (The Boys), Cleopatra Coleman (Infinity Pool) and Woody Norman (War of the Worlds), Cobweb is directed by Samuel Bodin, written by Chris Thomas Devlin and produced by Roy Lee, Andrew Childs, Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, James Weaver, and Josh Fagen.

Lionsgate Horror

Lionsgate presents, a Point Grey production, a Vertigo production.

Looking through the list of producers I was very surprised to see Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen in amongst the list. Notorious for comedy movies it’ll be interesting to see what they brought to the production with many comedy stars slowly transcending into horror films, only recently Danny McBribe had a dab hand in writing a couple of the recent Halloween movies.

Cobweb Film

From how the trailer is shot I feel sorry for the kid having to live with two very dull and dry characters and that’s shown in a trailer! Wow, liven up a bit! They’re definitely hiding something and that’s before I’ve even seen the film!

Jump scares aplenty in the trailer and lots of creepy moments the film looks well shot but instantly gives me Insidious and Conjuring type vibes rather than standing on its own two feet.

Cobweb Cast

There’s already plenty of winks and nods to inspirations from other movies and very same old same old kid + creepy house cliches aplenty but I’m still looking forward to checking it out and discovering for myself what lurks within those walls.
