As a brand new growing free online movie streaming platform DistroTV have hit the free online movie and TV show streaming market ground running.
Diving straight into the deep end against numerous competitors DistroTV offers numerous varieties of content with an easy to navigate menu, a search bar if you’re after something specific and a visual display of all shows, movies and Live TV on offer.
With 150+ live channels and thousands of hours of content on offer, there are no subscription or fees involved of any kind.
DistroTV makes its money through adverts that are shown within the content much like YouTube videos, keeping the content 100% free for you to watch.
Free TV Shows
Now within the DistroTV menu for some reason, there isn’t a TV show or series option but they are included.
The service is still new and still expanding so there are a few little user interface issues that can easily be ironed out in the future.
This certainly is one of them.
Once you’ve stumbled across a TV show you can see all the episodes lined up and ready to watch as I sat down with a nice cup of coffee and watched an episode of Operation Repo.

The official synopsis read as follows:
Take a look inside the fast-paced, high-pressure world of car repossession with a team of highly trained professionals from California’s San Fernando Valley.
As with shows such as Pawn Stars, Hollywood Pawn, Hollywood Treasure there’s always a set style to the show.
There are the stars of the show who talk to the camera about situations unfolding and then we cut to the situation or the scene at hand and experience it for ourselves.
With the show being based around car repossession there’s certainly a lot of hostility and craziness happening but I’d expect nothing less from an American TV show.
It was cheesy, crazy and enjoyable but most of all, it was free and that’s what matters here.
Whilst it wasn’t the most high-budget of content available on the internet in terms of the show structure, camera work and more, it’s free.
If you’re expecting big-budget blockbusters on a free to air service you’re going to be severely disappointed.
Free Movie Streaming
From animated films to horror and comedy movies, there’s more and more to choose from every month on DistroTV.
After doing some digging I did find a Katt Williams stand-up show that I’d never seen before.
I’m a big Katt Williams fan and whilst this was one of his older stand-up shows there were certainly laughs aplenty.
There is also another stand-up show on the platform with Katt and Kevin Hart so it may take a while but a big star will show up sooner or later.
I found the movie offering to be very hit and miss on DistroTV.
We even have a few Steven M Smith movies on the service which for those who have seen my previous reviews of Steven’s movies, I’m not a big fan.
These movies are the definition of a shoe-string budget and it’s a pair of shoes that you’d never want to wear that’s for sure!
But amongst the questionable titles, there are a few cheesy so bad they’re good movies thrown in there such as Slaw starring Kevin Nash and Raging Hormones.
Raging Hormones looks like it was shot on a mobile phone but I found it like a student-film version of American pie or those golden 90s teen comedies.
The movie offerings are certainly an acquired taste for the most part with many titles on the service being ranked a 5 or lower on IMDB but they’re free and I’ll keep reminding you of that throughout.
Many people complain about paying for a bad movie and feeling cheated.
With DistroTV you may get a bad movie but at least you haven’t spent your hard-earned money on it!
Free Sport Streaming

After searching around the platform and stumbling across a few golf programmes and more I came across Championship Wrestling.
I was pleasantly surprised to see such good camera work from a low-budget wrestling programme and the performers were superb.
Some camera angles instantly gave me WWE vibes and there are many episodes to choose from with some great match-ups.
The commentary for each match-up was really engaging too, there was no dip in quality that I could see.
Out of all the sports offerings on the platform, I certainly thought Championship Wrestling was the strongest series I could find.
There is also a whole host of snowboarding, skiing and winter sports content and there are numerous live sports channels to watch also.
If you’re a fan of MMA or Boxing then a channel called Hard Knocks is one for you showcasing some of the amateurs facing off in the ring.
Great production value and highly enjoyable to watch.
I remember when I was younger watching a channel called Eurosport religiously and the sports channels on DistroTV certainly takes me back to watching that channel when I was younger.
A Free Documentaries Website

Similar to all the content that has come before it DistroTV has a small selection of documentaries available.
From crime documentaries to sci-fi and even historical documentaries there is enough to sink your teeth into if you’re a fan.
Learn about Ancient Egpyt with The Old Dynasties series or answer life’s more philosophical questions with The Nature of Existence.
These are certainly not documentaries on the level of National Geographic or similar but more independent and down to earth tellings that are still informative and easy to digest.
Overall
DistroTV certainly offers a wide variety of free content for you to binge-watch and you’ll occasionally be surprised when a big-name celebrity pops up here and there within the content on offer.
As of writing, this article DistroTV is emerging as one of the largest independent providers of free, ad-supported streaming content.
They’re growing fast and that can only benefit us the viewers when it comes to a wider variety of content on the site.
Amongst some of the better offerings on DistroTV, there are programs in the line-up from such film and TV channels as Reelz, Law&Crime, Quello, Magellan TV, People TV, and TD Ameritrade.
There’s a nice diversity of content and multicultural content to boot.
Personally, I’d love to see more independent titles with bigger names attached, I tend to find that these independent films always have great cover art design which can be deceiving.
You click on some artwork that looks superb and are greeted with a mobile phone shot independent trash can of a movie.
Having bigger stars gracing a front cover will at least give me the confidence that there is more money and faith in the film casting a known lead.
Easy to navigate and with the luxury of a search bar DistroTV is certainly a streaming platform to keep your eyes on in the years to come.
