After watching the Yorgos Lanthimo directed movie The Favourite the other night I was surprised to see an Emma Stone nude scene just appear ever so randomly.
There was me thinking she hadn’t done any such thing on the big screen and low and behold there it was for all to see.

Interested to find out why she chose this particular movie to bare all I did some research and stumbled across an interview that she did with The Hollywood Reporter.
It was in this interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Emma revealed that it was the first nude scene of her entire career and it was entirely her idea to choose to do so and the scene was never in the original script.
The scene was embellished on the spot and driven by Stone in that very moment.
During production on set Emma suggested that she be naked to shoot the scene to add more effect to the context of the story and thus the Emma Stone nude scene was born.
She said the following:
As we were shooting it and we did a few takes, I said, Can I please just be (naked)? I think it’s going to give Sarah something to look at when she sees that I’m not just under the sheet covered up.
Olivia [Colman] was like, ‘No, don’t do it!’ Yorgos was like, ‘Are you sure that’s what you want to do?’ And I was like, ‘Absolutely’. I chose to do it.
I was like, this makes sense to me. It’s an absolute [Stone flips the bird] to Sarah.
Stone also went on to say that this wasn’t really put off by doing the scene and instead found discomfort in other areas of the set environment.
That particular discomfort came in the form of the British swear word starting with a C and ending with a T (sorry we can’t even type it, advertisers would murder us)
It’s safe to say us Brits use that word an awful lot and it is especially more common within London and the surrounding areas.
Emma said:
I’ve been around Brits long enough the shock has worn off, but hearing the word c**t a bunch, I was like, oh my God. It’s the most offensive word.
The Favourite received mostly favourable reviews and the movie still stands at a solid 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and a strong 7.5/10 audience rating on IMDB.
The film is lauded for its wit, well-rounded characters and a storyline that keeps the audience guessing throughout with sharp unpredictability.

Synopsis:
In the early 18th century, England is at war with the French. Nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are thriving. A frail Queen Anne occupies the throne, and her close friend, Lady Sarah, governs the country in her stead, while tending to Anne’s ill health and mercurial temper.
When a new servant, Abigail, arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing, and Abigail sees a chance to return to her aristocratic roots.
