Here is our episode 3 Kate and Koji review as the series brings us to its midway point of the first season.

Despite Kate being sued after an accident in the cafe, she refuses to back down and Koji is reluctant to get involved.
Although Medium is convinced she should just apologise and have it over with, Kate suspects the legal threats may have something to do with Councillor Bone.
Kate and Koji Episode 3
With every episode that flies by of Kate and Koji the more it’s growing on me with every passing second.
A time forgotten style of comedy that catapults me back into the days when comedies were funny.
Kate & Koji is a brand new sitcom for ITV and a sign of potentially positive things to come in terms of future ITV comedies.
The series revolves around Kate, a working-class woman who runs an old-fashioned café in a seaside town.
Koji is an asylum seeker who is running an illegal doctors practise in her cafe in exchange for free food.
The series is a good story of friendship with a comedic twist, or well it would be if they actually explored the friendship more.
I must admit it’s a slow story of friendship as up until this point their friendship still hasn’t blossomed.
Koji almost plays a background role in the first half of episode 3 as the focus of the story revolves around Kate amidst this legal battle and a stern email she’s writing.
The first episode introduced us to characters, the second episode whilst still hilarious didn’t really delve into the details either.
This third episode feels like a segway towards the next episode whilst at the same time spoofing our modern phone addicted generation.
Comedy in this third episode is sparce with some jokes that certainly didn’t hit home this time around.
During the second half of the show the comedy spreads its wings as they venture outside for a scene. A rather hilarious scene indeed!
Overall
Although from very different worlds, Kate and Koji are similar in ways which they do not recognise, including a dogged determination to never back down!
Whilst not as good as the previous two episodes Kate and Koji certainly isn’t going off the rails, just yet.

Our Rating
Summary
Not as strong as the first two episodes but the show is far from going off the rails just yet.
With a few laugh-out-loud moments to keep us going the relationship between Kate and Koji certainly needs to be explored more in future eps.
