Hollywood absolutely loves to lay waste to famous landmarks around the world. Many of the world’s famous landmarks have been epicly destroyed on the big screen. So what better way to embrace this cinematic destruction than with postcards!
The budget of these Hollywood blockbusters are most likely to cost more blowing the landmark up than the original price to build the real-life landmarks in the first place! For example, Cloverfield’s budget of 25 million dollars dwarves the modern cost of building the Statue of Liberty, which would cost a cool 1.2 million dollars today.
The guys over at Vibrant Doors, have made these postcards that depict these devastated destinations and here’s a handful of them below:
The Statue of Liberty, New York City, New York – Cloverfield (2008)

Destroyed by the monster in Cloverfield The Statue of Liberty lost its head. Found footage within the movie shows the head rolling around in the streets.
The Millennium Bridge, London – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)

Destroyed by Death Eaters the Millennium Bridge in London is attacked and sent splashing into the Thames killing many muggles in the process. God damn those damn movie monsters killing muggles in many multiples on the Millennium Bridge. Try saying that drunk!
The Hollywood Sign, Los Angeles, California – Terminator: Salvation (2009)

Goddamn Skynet ruining it for everybody! The Hollywood sign takes quite the battering in many movies including San Andreas (earthquake), The Day After Tomorrow (tornado) and more but in Terminator Salvation. Movie monsters Skynet has a crack at knocking a few letters off!
