Let’s take a look at some of the insane prices fetched for Disney items at auctions with prices only set to soar in the coming years.

From Michael Jackson to Katy Perry, celebrities are and have been mesmerized by Disney and all its colorful characters.
From the strength and valor of Mulan to the loyalty of Moana, there are a wealth of qualities that attract viewers to specific characters, and the result is that many are proud collectors of Disney films, illustrations, toys, and other items.
Serious collectors, meanwhile, part with a little more coin for meaningful items.
Which Disney collector’s pieces have fetched fabulous prices at auctions and are you ready to start saving up for a similar item.
PeopleMover Vehicle
It is hard to believe that one of the top selling items at an auction was a simple ‘people moving’ vehicle, which went for a whopping $121,000 to a bidder at the History of Disneyland Auction held at the Van Eaton Galleries in Sherman Oaks, California.
The magic of this piece lies in its connection to the earliest Disney parks built and to its (at the time modern) design, which to this today would make quite a gorgeous addition to an indoor or outdoor living space.
The people mover is bright yellow in hue with a convenient hood for protection from the sun.
Candlestick Phone
Walt Disney was a great communicator, known as much for his beautiful illustrations as for his ability to ‘sell’ people on an idea. It is no wonder, therefore, that one fan took home the Disney founder’s candlestick phone for $43,560.
It is gold in hue, with an old fashioned dial and a ‘tube-shaped receiver.’ It has all the glamour you would expect of phones from the 1960s and Disney used it throughout the 1980s.
If you subscribe to Disney boxes and you collect paraphernalia, cross your fingers that a phone will be in one of the boxes.
It may be modern and made of plastic, but it will undoubtedly add a pop of joy to all your communications. Interestingly, nearly every Disney animation has inspired phones and the company has even launched its own mobile phone, with set spending, predetermined on/off hours, GPS sensor and more child-friendly features.
1953 Disneyland Prospectus
This beautifully illustrated and predictably colorful prospectus shows off Walt Disney’s vision of his company’s first-ever themed park.
Comprising 10 pages, the prospectus was illustrated by Herb Ryman, who gave life to a hand-drawn map that mentions True-Life Adventureland, Frontier Country, and other old-fashioned names for the different sub-themes within the park. The winning bid was for $30,250.
Adventure Through Inner Space Atommobile Prop
This is undoubtedly one of the cutest Disney pieces to make it to an auction. Sold for $22,900, it features a representation of a Tomorrowland dark ride which measures a total of nine inches.
It features a tiny hand-painted man and woman inside a blue egg-shaped attraction ride. The fashion, haircuts, and vehicle design are all immensely nostalgic and utterly irresistible to those with a passion for miniatures.
We have mentioned just four items that have sold for thousands of dollars at the famed Van Eaton Galleries auction. From large people movers to tiny props, there was something for all types of collectors with extra cash to spend.
Even Walt Disney’s personal phone made it to the auction block, with one lucky bidder hoping to be as inspired as the creator of one of the world’s most successful companies, was throughout his lifetime.
