Final Destination 6 is happening and we have a few details to share with you today about the upcoming movie.
The 6th installment in the Final Destination franchise was announced towards the end of last year.
A franchise that has grossed over $700M at the box office.
Final Destination 6 Storyline
The Final Destination movies all revolve around premonitions of certain characters who see the events of a tragic accident unfold before they happen.
Each of these individuals prevents themselves and their friends from getting hurt and cheating death in the process.
Seeking revenge, one by one death stalks its prey as each saved induvial dies it a variety of freak accidents.
Producer Craig Perry said:
We’re toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, firemen and police. These people deal with death on the front lines every day, and make choices that can cause people to live or die.
We rely on their good judgement, expertise and calm demeanour. So why not put those people in the nightmare situation where every choice can bring about life and death – but now for themselves?
We’re thinking that world might be an interesting way into a Final Destination movie, and one which can also generate unique set pieces in a very credible way.
Will Final Destination 6 Be a Reboot?
It certainly looks as thou the movie will not be a reboot with creator Jeffrey Reddick urging strongly against it.
He told Digital Spy:
Craig is the master of coming up with crazy openings and set pieces.
He’s told me a couple of things that happen in this one and it’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s not going feel like cash-grab Final Destination film.
I think reboot is probably too strong of a word
It makes it sound like they’re going to change everything, but it’s definitely a Final Destination movie
Creator Jeffrey Reddick Teases Gory Deaths
Jeffrey Reddick continued the interview by touching ever so briefly on an upcoming death scene in the movie.
He said:
I don’t think anybody will look at a revolving door in the same way again…
After Noah’s death in The Walking Dead, I haven’t looked at a revolving door the same again anyway!
Final Destination 6 Release Date?
With the current ongoing Coronavirus situation halting many productions, a release date hasn’t been announced. I doubt we’ll be hearing anything for quite some time.
