Gandeys Halloween Spooktacular is spread over numerous locations this year but after a stellar show in Trentham it was time to step up the size of the big top and the size of the acts as we went to the Trafford Centre to see this incredible show.

From the creators of Cirque Surreal and the Chinese State Circus comes a very special (trick or) treat for Halloween, Gandeys Circus was an additional add-on to Spookfest and boy did they go hand in hand towards creating an incredible Halloween event.
Running from Friday 15 October – Sunday 31 October death-defying acts perform night after night for your entertainment but their bodies and lives are on the line.
A specially selected international cast has been brought together for this sensational extravaganza.
From the thrill acts to the big production numbers Gandeys are famous for, it’s all here and you will be on the edge of your seat with excitement, rolling in the aisles with laughter, and hiding under your coats from the spooky thrills.

The sheer size of the Big Top takes you into this tardis world where the inside looks twice as big as the tent looks from the outside but instantly the size difference was clear from that of the Trentham show.
There is enough room in this particular tent to house the infamous thunder dome as bikers drive around a wheel of death knowing that just one collision could be fatal for all those involved.
As far as the music and the dance acts of the show went the majority of the progression of the show was the same as the Trentham show, the only difference being that Chico was the clown at Trentham and Andrea is the clown at Trafford.
Andrea has a different audience participation act than Chico and a few extra set pieces added for her ghoulish ghostbusting segment.
The Halloween theming around each act is wonderful as one minute we have skeletons dancing and then the next minute they’re doing things like this…

From high-octane stunts to dance acts, this particular Gandeys show absolutely flew by at a rapid pace. Such professionalism, determination and enthusiasm to put on the same show night after night and the passion and bravery the acts have is beyond words.
During one particular tightwire act, there was a mishap as the audience gasped in horror as a potential accident was unfolding before our very eyes.
The music stopped as our brave tight wire artist was hanging from the tight rope yet managed to swing himself back up onto the rope.
I’ve never seen a mishap during a circus performance before and it was a stark reminder that these guys put their lives on the line every day and the dangers are very real.

Some acts in particular use harnesses that involve swinging over the audience as to not hurt anyone in the crowd but other acts have absolutely zero harnesses and this act was one of them.
This image isn’t for clickbait reasons or anything of the like but a reminder that what these performers do on a daily basis is very real indeed.
Mixing Ghostbusters, The Addams Family and even a Game of Thrones segment Gandeys never cease to put a smile on my face.
The whole team absolutely bring the thunder each and every night and it was a pleasure to be invited along for my second show of the month.
You’d think with me seeing the Halloween Spooktacular show before that I’d be bored, but you’d be very very wrong.
The Trentham show had completely different acts and the Trafford Centre show contained the bigger and more jaw-dropping acts.

The thunder dome bikers are always my favourite act and they didn’t disappoint as 4 riders circled around the dome mere inches away from a collision.
It’s high-octane entertainment and I absolutely loved it!
A wonderful mix, a wonderful show and a wonderful time at Gandeys Circus Halloween Spooktacular.
Gandeys Circus attendees also had free entry to Spookfest (usually £3.50) so take full advantage of that on your way out of the big top!
