Gibson Metal and Monsters Series Combines Heavy and Horror

Metal and Monsters Series

A brand new Gibson Metal and Monsters series combines horror and heavy metal for a brand new show!

Metal and Monsters Gibson

Gibson TV, a brand of the guitar company has launched its first show dedicated to the world of heavy metal and monster culture with the most iconic of them all, one Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) featuring in the opening episode.

Reuniting Robert Englund and Don Dokken to celebrate the 35th anniversary of A Nightmare on Elm Street Dream Warriors is certainly a bold, brave and epic opening episode to start a new series.

If you’re starting a brand new series off with the ultimate icon in horror then that’s about as bold as you can go when planning for future episodes.

But with that said I’m now even more excited to see just how they can top it episode after episode and what future guests they have lined up for this promising series.

The show is hosted by Matt “Count D” Montgomery who is the bassist for Rob Zombie. We explore Count D’s passion for music and monsters as this 60 minute+ show dives into both worlds.

It really is a sit around the campfire and tell tales kind of show but instead of a campfire, the backdrop is a 2000 seat Los Angeles theatre. A haunted theatre at that.

Constructed in 1930, Charlie Chaplin helped fund the completion of the building so it would be ready to premiere his film “City Lights” in January of 1931.

After closing its doors in 1994, the Los Angeles Theatre sat vacant for many years until serving as a film and television location for productions including “Man on The Moon,” Charlie’s Angels,” “Mad Men,” and “The Lords of Salem.”

In the first episode of “Metal and Monsters,” Count D takes us to Elm Street as he reunites Don Dokken and Robert Englund to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the film “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.” Featuring never before seen photos from the “Dream Warriors” video shoot, Robert and Don share stories of musical influences to behind-the-scenes tales of one of the most successful horror franchises in film history.

With some killer riffs and music throughout as to be expected from Gibson this new show certainly has an edge to it and a vibe that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

If you love horror there’s absolutely every chance you love metal, what more could you want?!

As a good friend of Robert Englund I know personally I can listen to him talk about just about anything for hours (and believe me he will) and you’ll love absolutely every second of it, I guarantee it.

If I had ANY niggle whatsoever about the show is that I’d sort out the microphone interference that occurs frequently throughout the interview stage. It becomes a slight distraction and a well put together production like this needs to sort out what should be an easy fix of a problem.

A company like Gibson which prides itself on the audio quality of its instruments needs to make that a priority fix for future eps!
