Following a very successful first series Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Siriexix are back! Here is our Gordon, Gino and Fred American Road Trip episode 1 review.
Episode 1: The Three Amigos
After a BAFTA-nomination and a TV Choice Award, these three are back on the road for another outrageous road trip.
I always feel as thou Gordon, Gino and Fred are the perfect combination, almost like the Top Gear team we never had.
The comedy is rife and the banter between three friends is glorious to watch from start to finish.
This series has the three amigos taking in the sights and culinary delights of Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Texas and Tijuana, the trio’s antics will include wallet-busting burgers, dune buggy racing, goat yoga, spearfishing, cowboy capers, fine wines and wild wrestling.
The show provides food on tour like never before and an opening episode that will have you laughing one minute and gasping in horror the next.
What’s In Store?

We start off in Mexico where the gang are travelling around in a giant RV. This thing is like a mansion on wheels, just large enough to fit Gordon’s ego.
An RV that’s far too big for the small dirt roads of Mexico and a few close calls and bent road signs later they head to a bar to taste tequila.
The episode bounces from place to place from chilli tasting in food markets to buggy racing and spearfishing.
There’s so much happening within the episode that it is impossible to get bored.
Whether you’re a fan of food programmes or not it really doesn’t matter as the glowing chemistry between the three shines above any standard food programme.
The idea of the series is to start in Mexico, loop around and head back to the USA with Gordon claiming the Americans have some of the best food in the world.
What makes this programme so great is the dynamic of the three stars. Each one compliments the other and helps to balance out the entire show.
Gino is the comedic relief with witty remarks and an accent that makes anything sound interesting and his crude humour forever coming to the forefront.
Gordon is the egotistical straight-faced connoisseur but at the same time, he knows when to let loose and enjoy himself. Most of what Gordon puts out there is to keep face, I imagine behind the camera he’s much nicer than the mean demeanour he’s so famous for on-screen.
Last but certainly not least is Fred, a man of style, class and substance who is the cooling blanket between the short-tempered Ramsey and the happy-go-lucky Gino.
Overall
A very fun, breezy opening episode that flies through its 75-minute runtime.
Gordon Gino and Fred: American Road Trip is a series about friendship, bromance bonding and enjoying not only life but the cuisine within it.
I look forward to episode 2, it’s exactly the sort of comedic relief we all need right now whilst admiring some beautiful food.
The very same food that has me salivating with every passing scene.
From Kate and Koji last night to this tonight. Comedy is free-flowing on ITV this April!
