Gordon, Gino and Fred: American Road Trip Episode 3 Review

Gordon Gino and Fred Review From Studio Ramsay GORDON GINO & FRED AMERICAN ADVENTURE Ep 3. Summer of Love Thursday 16th April 2020 on ITV Pictured: Fred Sirieix, Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo visit a vineyard in Napa Valley Gino and Fred are excited to be heading to San Francisco for their very own Summer of Love. Gino is looking forward to visiting the place that’s “all about hippies, sex, drugs and rock and roll” while Fred reminisces on the Village People disco hit of his youth YMCA. Gordon tries to embrace the flower power mood in the RV, but only to a point - he’s more interested in the 61 Michelin Stars the city is famous for. Gino is in charge of the itinerary for day one, which sees the boys experience a hot San Fran food trend in the shape of cannabis infused snacks at a hippie high-tea party. Of course, Gino overindulges, and to bring him and the boys back down to earth they join another emerging Californian trend, a session of goat yoga. Next morning they hit Campbell Cove to go clamming at dawn. Gino’s not much help until he shakes off his cannabis coma. After clamming, Gordon pranks Gino with a paddle board race to the famous prison Alcatraz… some 50 miles away. Then the boys are joined for lunch by a pair of Italian Americans to cook up a local specialty called cioppino, essentially a catch of the day stew. The next day it’s Fred’s turn to lead the way as the boys travel to a vineyard in Napa Valley in a hot air balloon, but the spectacular views are wasted on Gino, who cowers in the basket, too afraid to look down. After sampling some glorious vino and leaving their RV parked up in the grounds of the castle for the night, the lads head back into San Francisco. This time Gordon is determined to show them one of the oldest Chinatowns outside of China and as luck would have it, they discover it’s Autumn Moon Festival time. Befriended by a local family they meet on the street; the chaps end their time in San Fran on a high by joining the Lee family for an amazing Autumn Moon family feast, which Gordon and Gino cook up while Fred works his charms on their hosts. The three amigos head to San Francisco in the funniest episode yet. Here’s our Gordon, Gino and Fred Episode 3 review.

Gordon Gino and Fred Episode 3
Gordon Gino & Fred American Adventure: Every Wednesdays at 9 pm on ITV

Hot off the incredible Las Vegas episode Gordon, Gino and Fred are in the free-spirited capital of San Francisco.

Gordon says:

San Francisco is one of the hottest spots anywhere on the planet culinary-wise. It has a cluster of 61 Michelin star restaurants. This bay is unique because it holds this incredible oasis of seafood, that literally supplies the rest of the country.

Driving an RV of that size down San Francisco’s narrow and steep streets must have been horrific. Things get too much for Fred that he literally jumps out of the RV whilst it’s moving to get away from the situation.

Once parked up the gang indulge in cannabis treats. Gordon has reservations but Gino adds drops upon drops of cannabis onto his food and the results are laugh out loud hilarious.

Gino has overindulged in absolutely everything this trip and I don’t blame him one bit! Living life to the fullest and providing us with some hilarious antics as he is certainly becoming the stand out comedian of the group so far.

Whilst a little fuzzy around the edges (Fred included) they all attempt goat yoga.

It’s one laugh after another and the introduction of every single episode this season has been superb.

I absolutely love the camera work on each and every one of the episodes, we get the perfect blend of scenery and whilst the food scenes aren’t as detailed this time around the show flies at breakneck speed.

Gordon, Gino and Fred is the funniest and most engaging show on British television right now and it’s what we all need to keep us sane during this uncertain time.

Rather than ending the show in a new location, this particular episode has the gang travelling in a big circle. They start in San Francisco, head up to Napa Valley and then loop back around to end the show in San Francisco at a moon festival in Chinatown.

Roll on episode 4 where the guys head to the deep south. Yeehaw!

Overall

Gordon Gino and Fred American Road Trip Episode 1

From the opening episode exploring Mexican culture to American cuisine in the second and now Chinese culture and cuisine. There’s so much variety of culinary delights on offer throughout the series.

Constantly switching things up and keeping us engaged with incredible cast chemistry and some hilarious banter and pranks between three friends.

A show that doesn’t leave a sour taste in your mouth.  Unlike some of the questionable wine the group taste at the end of the show!

Long may Gordon, Gino and Fred continue to make us laugh in the darkest times.
