Based on the upcoming animation from Mack Media and Warner Bros Germany Grand Prix of Europe, Europa-Park theme park in Germany has officially opened a theme park ride to celebrate the release of the upcoming movie which is being released in cinemas this Summer which coincides with their 50th Anniversary.
This brand new interactive 3D dark ride at Europa Park is a celebration of the upcoming film which offers exciting play fun at a new level.
Guests join park mascots Ed & Edda, the main stars of the upcoming movie as they journey across Europe and become members of their racing crew in the innovative Gameplay Theater.
State-of-the-art multimedia integration and lovingly themed staging make sure the whole family finds themselves in the world of the animated adventure Grand Prix of Europe.

Just in time for the 50th anniversary season, the popular mascots Ed & Edda take the big screen by storm for the first time from 24. July.
The new Grand Prix of Europe movie ride wasn’t fully completed during a celebration event to which we were invited to but it already looked wonderful from its lovingly decorated queue line to its fun interactive on-ride experience.

Named Grand Prix EdVenture the ride is the world’s first Mack Rides gameplay theatre which seats guests in what is essentially a circular theatre as they rotate between physical sets and screens racking up a high score via interactive guns onboard the vehicle.
It’s a competitive and fun experience for all the family and despite it being showcased to us very early there was enough on display to get the full idea of what it’ll be like when the ride officially opens later this month.

Europa-Park certainly doesn’t do things by halves and from the wonderful opening parade which featured the park owners riding down to the ride area on their very own customised racing cars along with a quick photo shoot and a fireworks display to inaugurate the ride.
It was quite the spectacle.
Outside of the ride the park has created a grandstand as part of the racing theming and as you venture into the queue line you are greeted with a workshop and a garage featuring a full-size scale mock-up car that you’ll see in the movie.
It’s certainly an immersive queueline and it gets you into the racing spirit ahead of taking your seat and the ride beginning.

To have an entire ride at a theme park themed around an upcoming movie set to be released by the park is a genius marketing move. It allows guests to come full circle from watching the film to experiencing it themselves when they board the ride.
Become front and centre in your own race with Ed and Edda and enjoy this wonderfully themed and fun ride when it opens later this month.
I want to thank Europa-Park for inviting me out to this very special celebration and I was honoured to be the first person (yes, I was that eager) to board the ride along with the Mack Family, quite a moment to cherish for any movie/theme park fan that’s for sure.
I can’t wait for this summer when the Grand Prix of Europe movie is released in the cinemas but for those like me who just can’t wait any longer then please do check out the official trailer for the movie below:
