Greenlight Review: A Palpable Thriller of Epic Proportions

Greenlight Movie

Greenlight Movie Poster

Our Greenlight review is a glowing one indeed as this 2020 movie sets the benchmark for independent horror.

Synopsis:

A director’s dream job quickly descends into a nightmare when he is forced to film a real-life murder.

Greenlight Cast

Chase Williamson plays Jack Archer, a struggling filmmaker who just wants to get his first break into directing feature films in Hollywood.

No one will hire him as a feature film director until he’s made a feature film (typical) until a chance meeting with an actor lands him a job with a film producer.

This very same film producer wants Jack to shoot a movie where in the final scene an actor is killed for real.

Our film revolves around the conflict between a human life and pursuing a dream by any means neccesary.

This film is going to be big. Like a masterclass in horror / thriller film big.

From start to finish the tension is second to none. It’s the perfect social commentary on our need to succeed.

Throwing the story into the crazy world of Hollywood makes it all the more cut-throat.

We twist from one scene to the next with stellar performances across the board. Especially from Caroline Williams and Chris Browning as the actress and producer of the movie we’re shooting in the movie (don’t get confused now).

Easily two standout performers of this particular feature.

Greenlight Movie 2020

This may be a low budget indie film but it’s done so stylishly and so beautifully it transcends budget.

It’s rare that a film confined by budget somewhat outgrows its own financial constrictions but Greenlight does it in spades.

We have acting within acting scenes that is superb. Not to mention the superbly visceral special effects that bring the film to life with devastation effect.

Director Graham Denman has made his feature film.

I wonder who he had to kill to get this movie made but my god it’s a masterpiece!

Greenlight is being released on February 25th by The Horror Collective

Summary

Independent cinema at its finest as director Graham Denman has delivered a masterclass in tension, horror and teeth chattering suspense with this incredible feature.

I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen, an absolute joy to watch from start to finish. A film of such quality that it outgrows its budgetary restrictions and shines very brightly indeed.
