Here Are The Top 10 Worst Movies Of The Last Decade

Top 10 Worst Movies of the Last Decade

Statistics from The Golden Raspberry Index show the top 10 worst movies of the last decade and we’re here to share with you the worst of the worst today!

The Golden Raspberry Awards (also known as the Razzies) are a parody award show judging some of the worst movies released during a calendar year.

Information was released today showing the films with the most nominations and awards won over the last ten years and there are some absolute stinkers in this list.

So without further ado lets jump straight into the top 10 worst movies of the last decade with one film from each year being added to our virtual chopping block.

Cats (2020)

Number of nominations – 9

Number of Razzie Awards won – 6

The most recent cinematic disaster is the 2020 movie Cats.

Critics and fans alike squirmed in their seats watching this wonky CGI nightmare.

With such a talented cast on board this musical number, the sky was the limit, upon release, all nine cat lives were obliterated within the opening of the film as it was a damn surprise that a movie like this was approved to be released.

Holmes and Watson (2019)

Number of nominations – 6

Number of Razzie Awards won – 4

Only Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s on-screen chemistry kept this movie from receiving a o/5 score with critics across the board.

Labelled as ‘Painfully Unfunny‘ by Rolling Stone and ‘Lazy Comedy‘ by ScreenRant it’s safe to say this film did not go down well with audiences and critics alike.

Transformers: The Last Knight (2018)

Number of nominations – 10

Number of Razzie Awards won – 0

The research conducted to decide the top 10 was defined by using Wikipedia and compiling a full history of nominees and winners from each year.

Each winner and nominee were counted in their categories and from these counts, the ranking was made from the individuals and films with the most wins and nominations within their categories.

So whilst Transformers: The Last Knight didn’t win any awards the sheer number of nominations alone put it firmly within this top 10 worst movies of the decade list.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2017)

Number of nominations – 8

Number of Razzie Awards won – 5

Oh, this was catastrophically bad!

Then again, the same can be said of absolutely every DCEU release of the last decade with Wonder Woman being the best of a bad bunch.

Thankfully Joker stepped outside of the DCEU which is probably for the best as it stands head and shoulders over 10 years worth of DC cinematic content.

It’s a shame, it really is, but they just never learn and continue to try and replicate the magic of their rivals rather than create something unique, original and bring to life the much deeper characters than that of the Marvel universe.

Fifty Shades of Grey (2016)

 Fifty Shades of Grey Poster

Number of nominations – 6

Number of Razzie Awards won – 5

I mean after hating on the DCEU I feel like an idiot when I said I didn’t particularly hate Fifty Shades of Grey.

I was easily pleased with some nice cinematography, fancy lifestyle and this insanely cheesy love story.

Don’t get me wrong it was a bad movie but out of this particular top 10 list, it certainly isn’t the worst feature in this line-up.

Transformers: Age of Extinction (2015)

Number of nominations – 7

Number of Razzie Awards won – 2

Two Transformers movies feature in this Top 10 and it’s no surprise as they completely lost their all-spark (get it?) after the first movie.

Grown Ups 2 (2014)

Grown Ups 2 Razzies

Number of nominations – 9

Number of Razzie Awards won – 0

Adam Sandler movies get way too much hate for my liking and I enjoyed the goofiness that was Grown Ups 2, I’m quite glad it didn’t pick up an award but Adam Sandler almost always gets his name on a Razzies list.

They should have probably let the original movie be without resorting to an unneeded sequel.

Sandler himself has picked up 4 worst actor Razzie awards and that’s only 2 less than Slyvester Stallone and 3 less than Madonna for worst actress.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2013)

Number of nominations – 11

Number of Razzie Awards won – 7

I’ve never quite understood The Twilight Saga but it built up such a dedicated (and quite weird) little cult following that I couldn’t wrap my head around either.

Rightly so this gleaming pile of vampire trash garnered so many nominations and picked up plenty of Razzies to go with it!

Jack and Jill (2012)

Number of nominations – 12

Number of Razzie Awards won – 10

There’s certainly no room to defend Adam Sandler with this one, Jack and Jill was an abomination.

What on earth was he thinking?!

Sex and the City 2 (2011)

Number of nominations – 10

Number of Razzie Awards won – 6

I’m not going to lie, I’ve seen both the first Sex and the City movie and the sequel more than once and I didn’t hate either of them.

Every girlfriend who I’ve ever been out with has enjoyed this movie so we’d always have a movie night and watch this and I wouldn’t fall asleep or distract myself with my phone.

I quite like my fashion and Samantha’s character reminds me of a female version of Stifler from American Pie, this comparison kept me watching if albeit the film was mushy and a bit dull thereafter.
