Hoar Cross Hall: An Indulgent and Tranquil Escape From the World

Hoar Cross Hall Review

Hoar Cross Hall is a four-star hotel complete with 101 bedrooms and one of the most beautiful spas I’ve ever had the privilege of attending.

Hoar Cross Hall Entrance

Spread across 50 acres of ground Hoar Cross Hall consists of two restaurants, a Ballroom, tennis courts, hiking trails and not to mention that huge spa featuring numerous treatment rooms, pools and chill-out spaces.

Hoar Cross Hall fully embraces you to slip into your white complimentary robe and just walk around this wonderful manor house like you own the place.

Breakfast in your robe is encouraged, lunch in your robe is encouraged but it’s only dinner in the evening where formal attire is required as you sit down and banquet in the Ballroom.

From a hotel with a secret bookcase door to a beautifully designed chill out drinking area, Hoar Cross Hall is the perfect escape even if you’re not staying overnight in one of the indulgent rooms.

Outside there is a hedge maze, an outdoor water area, and enough space to get lost in the dreamscape that Hoar Cross Hall paints for its guests. It’s the perfect escape from the outside world and a place where you can really unwind and relax whatever the weather.

As you descend the steps into the spa area you feel as though you’re going underground (maybe you do) as you pass a hairdresser, a gym and even a shop selling a wide variety of beauty/treatment ointments and more.

Everything is eloquent and wonderfully laid out and then the fun begins.

From the Nordic Heat and Ice area where you can soak in an aromatherapy steam room or bathe in ice to the saltwater vitality pool which magically thickened my hair in a matter of hours, there’s just so much to choose from.

A wide variety of drinks are complimentary including cucumber water, lemon water and more. I was surprised by just how nice all of these were and they’re a welcome refreshment when stepping out of a sauna or steam room for example.

Relax in a jacuzzi, explore a water cave or just open a door and take an adventure on whatever is in store for you.

Hoar Cross Hall even comes complete with a Snooze Room where music and ceiling lights lull you to sleep as you lie on some of the comfiest water beds I’ve ever experienced.

The Rooms

Hoar Cross Hall Rooms

If you’re planning on staying overnight at Hoar Cross Hall you’re in for a treat as from the cheapest room to the most expensive you’re getting luxury from the ground up.

Some suites come complete with Hot Tub terraces for you to relax in on your own time.

Our room was the Countess Crystal room (all the rooms have aristocratic names) and consisted of a large claw foot bathtub in the room and a central location within the hall to gaze upon the gardens.

Waking up to that view in the morning was nothing short of spectacular.

There was plenty of desk space and plug points to charge your items and even complimentary prosecco for my other half as it was her birthday.

A treat that didn’t just stop at the welcome bottle as we were given free glasses all throughout the evening from the wonderful members of staff.

Friendly from start to finish the staff members went above and beyond to make us feel at home as possible and the Ballroom experience in the evening was divine.

The Food

Hoar Cross Hall Food

The food was wonderful, as to be expected from a two AA rosette restaurant but after experiencing Lunar only a few weeks prior we felt the food wasn’t as good as our magical Lunar experience.

That’s our own fault for going to such a fancy place a few weeks before going to Hoar Cross Hall. Had we not experienced Lunar prior to visiting it would easily be one of the best meals I’ve ever had with the steak being absolutely incredible!

Overall

Hoar Cross

The spa had me in a complete state of relaxation and whilst Hoar Cross Hall can be a little pricey throughout the year if you manage to get a midweek date prices can go as low as £160 per person which includes a room, spa access, dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Make sure to visit the Hoar Cross Hall website so you can get the best deals.

I would absolutely go back to Hoar Cross Hall in a heartbeat, it was the most relaxed I’ve felt in many many years and it felt like a fancy home away from home.

Truly spectacular.
