Hilariously shot like a make-up tutorial this introductory episode is all about preparing for a date with a vampire.
Full of optimism, Catriona (Susan Harrison) is hoping the date just doesn’t suck (see what I did there?).
I said in my trailer announcement video that I’m a sucker for American humour.
I just love that over the top, completely ridiculous comedy and this first episode has it in spades!
I’m here just staring at my laptop chuckling away getting funny looks from everyone around me.
In a room full of candles and winks and nods to vampire culture it’s the subtle background set that just adds to the hilarity.
You can clearly see the obsession Catriona has for vampires and not only is it spoofing dating shows but vlogging culture as a whole.
She’s just sitting at a desk absolutely plastering her face in makeup. Nothing could be simpler but Susan Harrison makes it absolutely hilarious.
Aside from being a comedy sketch it’s a pretty damn good makeup tutorial to boot!
I can’t say i’m an expert but Susan looks absolutely amazing by the end of it!
Maybe I’m a vampire? Who knows.
Overall
Susan Harrison you improvisational genius. What a wonderful opening episode this is!
It reminds me of the old BBC Three programming that just brought you comedy sketch gold one after the other.
Hats off to everyone involved and finally something British that has made me laugh out loud. That’s rare in itself!
