Celebrity journalist Toby Vanilla interviews Satan and Santa: two brothers with slightly different names and very different perspectives on the modern dating scene.
Featuring Dan Starkey (Doctor Who, Class Dismissed, Good Omens) and Jonah Fazel (BAFTA-winning History Bombs, CBeebies Treasure Champs).
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this quirky little series so far. Until this particular episode, I feel.
Through the short 6 minute and 20 second run time, my face didn’t change. Maybe I blame a late-night, maybe I blame a grumpy morning.
Or maybe (do I dare?) blame this webisode.
Sadly, the first two episodes brought quirky and almost American humor to proceedings. Self-deprecating and hilarious.
In episode 3 I feel as thou there’s nothing much there to drive the comedy.
Lines are delivered intended for comedic effect but it all feels very community theatre to me.
It’s a shame after two incredible episodes that this one falls way short of the mark.

Overall
I was rather looking forward to the Satan episode but the dynamic between Satan and Santa didn’t work. Satan ended up being rather nice and polite and Santa was just a drunk.
As the webisode draws to a close the humor starts to amplify ever so slightly but just before it hits its sweet spot. It abruptly ends.
There is a line where Santa is asked about being lonely that I found funny but after 6 minutes I grew a little tired of the dynamic and how the show is set up.
The show’s concept revolves around dating and in this particular episode, we didn’t really get any insight into their dating life or anything of the sort.
Certainly my least favorite episode of the series so far but certainly not a terrible episode.
