How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World Playmobil Set Review

Playmobil How To Train Your Dragon Hidden World

Toymakers Playmobil has partnered with Universal Brand Development to bring the characters from DreamWorks Animation’s highly anticipated feature film, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World to retail shelves this February 2019.

For ages 4 and up kids can embark on whole new adventures with Hiccup and Toothless, Astrid and Hobgobbler and more!

As part of our review here on Back to the Movies, we actually had a sample delivered for us to review. Any excuse for a 27-year-old male to be playing with toys once again a mere week after completing my LEGO Movie Maker review.

Playmobil Dragons Light Fury Review

Playmobil How To Train Your Dragon Hidden World

Light Fury shows off her skills and beauty in the new DreamWorks Dragons Light Fury with Baby Dragon and Children by Playmobil playset. Both dragons feature movable wings for realistic play, and Light Fury can shoot projectiles from her mouth.

The fun-packed set also includes 2 children with lots of fish to feed to the dragons after a hard day’s training.

Retailing at £34.99 the box is marginally bigger than the contents inside. Upon opening the box I was rather surprised by how little there was inside that didn’t need to be built.

Everything was already pre-assembled apart from a couple of snap-on wings for both the dragons. Nice and easy for a 4-year-old to clip on.

The pieces are well made and there were no small parts other than the fish that must be unclipped from their brackets and placed in the buckets and the missiles which fire from the dragon’s mouth.

With this being a 4+ playset I wasn’t expecting any small parts whatsoever so parental guidance is advised when playing with this particular set JUST in case. Better safe than sorry.

The instruction booklets have clear easy-to-read tips on how to click the wings into place on the dragons and how the missiles fire and that’s about it. Another booklet shows other product ranges in the Playmobil collection and that’s about as simple as this box set gets.

For £34.99 I do feel the price tag is a little steep. The quality of the items wasn’t as good as I was expecting. The figures were great but the large dragon felt a little cheap although I understand with it being a movie branded item they can usually charge a sky’s limit price. I

was also rather shocked by just how little was inside such a huge box but if you’re a How to Train Your Dragon fan, you can’t go wrong really.

Suitable for children aged four and above, the full product range will be available online and from all good toy retailers right now!
