Inside Legoland Episode 1 Review: A Fun-Filled Peek Behind the Curtain

Jump behind the scenes of one of the UK’s most fun theme parks as we bring you our Inside Legoland episode 1 review.

Inside Legoland Episode 1 Review

For the first time cameras are taking us behind the scenes into the day-to-day running of LEGOLAND Windsor. If you’re a theme park nut or simply just love taking a look behind the curtain of some of your favourite attractions this series will be right up your street!

This four-part series comprises of four one-hour long episodes focusing on the magic of LEGOLAND and all the staff members involved that make that magic come alive.

Broadcasing on Channel 5 every Sunday this series was filmed over 5 months during the summer of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 as viewers will get to appreciate the effort and workload that staff members undertake when it comes to the day-to-day running of a theme park.

Episode 1 brushes over a wide variety of topics as we go behind the scenes of the LEGO Model Makers who meticulously create LEGO figures for the mini-land attraction (a replication of famous world attractions) and other areas of the park.

Here we meet Will, joining the exclusive Model Makers club. A job that is sought after by thousands of people every time a vacancy arises. The dream job for some which involves playing with LEGO all day and getting paid for it!

Will dives head first into a project involving the replacement of the gates at Buckingham Palace within Mini-Land as we get a glimpse into his first day on the job and an overall idea of what a day is like in the life of a model-maker.

On one of the hottest days of the year last summer we see what the staff have to deal with when it comes to complaints, what the first aiders have to experience on a typical busy day and we’re heavily focused on the Vikings River Splash rapids ride at LEGOLAND as an evacuation occurs and a boat needs replacing.

Inside Legoland Viking Splash Ride

We see behind the scenes of the technical team workshop and all the maintenance work that not only goes into the Vikings River Splash but other water rides in the park.

With this opening episode focusing solely on a scorching summers day, having the focus of this particular episode being on water rides was a much welcomed directorial decision.

I do enjoy these types of episodes where you take a look at attractions that many take for granted.

As a guest you turn up, you have a good day and you leave but many don’t stop and think about all the work that goes on before, after and during the parks opening hours that makes your day fun.

Whilst videos of ridiculously long queues on a summer’s day certainly didn’t sell me on visiting during the summer months the attention to detail and the overall theming of the park has certainly inspired me to visit off-season.

I absolutely hate queues and will fast pass every park I ever visit for that very reason but with current restrictions many parks are not offering fast passes at this moment in time.

I’ll bide my time and wait until the children go back to school before I embrace my inner child and take a trip to LEGOLAND Windsor.

The Dragon Legoland Windsor

Inside LEGOLAND: A World of Wonder will also take viewers on the journey of designing, building and launching a brand-new rollercoaster as the Park prepares to reveal the world’s first ever DUPLO rollercoaster – the hotly anticipated DUPLO Dino Coaster.

A coaster that is now completed as of the time of the series release but with over 100 hours of footage captured it’ll be great to see how it all came together and not just the DUPLO coaster.

No stone is left unturned as cameras follow the Animation team perform a sky-high six monthly dentist check-up on the technic dinosaur made from over one million LEGO bricks, the Ride Services team diagnose what’s troubling the Jolly Rocker pirate ship and the Events team race against the clock to display 3,000 pumpkins across the Park in time for Halloween.

Viewers will also find out which household item Housekeeper Michelle can’t live without for cleaning the 2,000 LEGO models found in the Hotel’s 209 rooms.

Stay tuned every Sunday for a brand new episode of this fun and well documented attractions series.
