Brain appétit! The first season of iZombie arrives on DVD October 17.
The new hit series stars Rose McIver (Once Upon a Time, Masters of Sex), Malcolm Goodwin (Breakout Kings), Rahul Kohli (Eastenders), Robert Buckley (One Tree Hill) and David Anders (Once Upon a Time, The Vampire Diaries).
The 3-disc DVD set includes all 13 episodes from the first season, plus deleted scenes and Comic-Con panel.
iZOMBIE stars Rose McIver as Olivia “Liv” Moore, a medical resident on the fast track to a perfect life … until she’s turned into a zombie.
Now stuck between half-alive and undead, Liv transfers to the city morgue to reluctantly access the only thing that allows her to maintain her humanity — human brains. But there are side effects to Liv’s new diet.
With each brain she consumes, she experiences flashes of the corpse’s memories — including, at times, clues as to how they were killed.
Her boss, a brilliant but eccentric conspiracy theorist, encourages her to embrace this gift and to work with an unproven homicide detective to help solve these murders … and quiet the voices in her head.

iZombie based off the popular comic is probably the best original show I can remember in recent times.
The way the scenes are weaved within comic pages, the likable characters, the simple set-up of case by case episodes that intertwine a progressive storyline that gets more dark and less self-centered as the episodes carry on.
The humour mixed with the interesting way the show portrays Liv as she eats her latest brain and takes on a whole new personality that allows her zombie super-powers to trace the various killers.
The show offers a fresh take on the zombie character. Live is talking, and as normal as any other human albeit a little pale and with a questionable appetite.
No other show or movie has brought such humanity to a zombie character let alone made them a positive character wanting to do good in society.
If Wonder-woman, Superwoman or Batgirl were ever zombies, no doubt they would be Liv in disguise.
A wonderful TV show that I had never heard of until I got the email asking for a review, and boy am I glad they messaged.
Wonderful performances packed with a horror-comedy element makes iZombie a must watch this Halloween.
